So, I just recently finished putting in a Sony Head Unit into my 2000 GT and now I can't troubleshoot these two problems for the life of me.
1) The DIC doesn't illuminate. I know that it was working prior to putting the stereo in, but now nothing. It used to go on when my headlights did, but now nothing. I have been thinking about it, and it seems like there was a wire in the harness that was labeled Illumination, and the harness from the Sony deck did not have one. Since there was no match I didn't do anything with it. Could that be the problem? I had just assumed the wire was for the stock radio dimmer.
2) Prior to even installing the deck I noticed that my rear speakers only worked part of the time. Sometimes I can get just the left rear, sometimes just the right rear, sometimes both, and a majority of the time neither of them. Now I have read a little bit about how they factory speakers blow fairly easily, but there is no crackling/humming/etc. Are there any ideas as to what might be wrong?
