Detailed the GTP

This is my 1996 Grand Prix GTP that I recently acquired for a daily driver/winter beater. This car was in rough shape with bad water spots and swirls. The car was washed with Meguires Gold Class, wheels cleaned with Armor All wheel cleaner, glass cleaned with Invisible Glass, and tires dressed with Armor All tire foam.

Paint Correction:
Meguiars clay with meg's QD
Menzerna Power Gloss via rotary and wool pad
Pinnacle XMT Fine Swirl Remover via rotary and white polishing pad
Meguiars NXT Tech Wax

How much you want for it?!? :th_laugh-lol2:

I almost like that style GP better than the 97-03 style.

Great work!

Thanks for the compliments. I love the HUD and the fact that it runs so quiet and smooth. My Mustang is definitely my baby, but DD'ing it gives me a headache because it is so darn loud. I'm suprised at how well the Grand Prix handles too. The 3.4 24 valve engine has some decent get up and go, but it definitely needs a 5 or 6 speed trans... (GM 4 speed really kills this thing).

I was really impressed with how well it cleaned up. As you can see in those before/after pictures there was hardly any shine/depth left in the clear. I absolutely love my new rotary polisher :th_rockon1:

Looks good! Those are my next favorite GPs after the 97-03s. Love the style of headlights they used on those cars.

I'll race ur mustang lol should be a close one(08 GXP) jk man very nice GP and I love mustangs too.

LOL, you'd probably beat me in the 1/4. The stang is at best a low 14 second car, but I really love driving it. There is nothing like having the windows down and rowing through the gears listening to the sweet v-8 rumble on a nice sunny day.

Pretty good, but a better wax would really give it that deep wet look. P21S Carnauba wax is what you're looking for. Also, you can do better than Meguiars no matter what type of product. Menzerna was a good choice, but also look into Poor Boy's, P21S, and Chemical Guys.

I get all my detailing stuff from Automotive Detailing Supplies and How To Guide - Detailed Image .

I know there is better stuff out there, but this is just my DD/winter beater and I wanted to clean it up. No sense spending a bunch of money on boutique wax/sealers when I have plenty of wax to use up in my garage. Besides, in my experience 90% of how good the paint looks is based solely on the paint condition which can be corrected by polishing and the other 10% is on the LSP.

Should try a boxer rumble some day. I was going to go for a V8 for my next car but after driving a boxer, it changed my mind. Makes me forget I drive a 4-banger.

Sounds nice, but to me nothing beats the raspy/angry sound of the 4.6 Mustang V-8 (especially the 32 valve Cobra's).
