Cruise control not enabling...

I just had the engine replaced in my car lately. I finally got it back yesterday and when i was driving down the highway, i couldn't enable the cruise control. Tried multiple times and it never once turned on. Anyone know what might be causing the problem? Simply a sensor unplugged maybe?

Btw, the car is a 98 Grand prix GT.

Could be the module isn't plugged up, or that the cruise cable isn't connected to the throttle bracket. There is no "sensor" specifically for the cruise system.

Cruise module is a black box bolted to the driver's side strut tower. There will be a cable that comes out, wraps around, and goes to the throttle body.

Alright, i think i know what you're talkin bout. Hopefully i can figure out what the problem is. Will update if i get it fixed :P

Cruise is fixed. Woot.

There were 2 cables coming from the cruise control module to the throttle body. The one closest to the front of the car was connected but the 2nd one was not. The cable fit right onto a little knob in the throttle body. Simple problem, simple fix.

Thanks for the help, particularly sabrewings. :)

Should only be one cable going to the throttle body from the cruise module. The other cable to the throttle body comes from the gas pedal.

Either way, glad you got it fixed. I figured it was something stupid like that since you said the engine was just replaced.
