Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

crotch rockets?

thanks for all the replies... and e arguments lol.. bio ur bike does look comfy. i sat on the r6 and r1 and the only real difference i felt is it sits a tad higher and weighs a lil bit more.. im going to keep my options open for now. i still have 4 months til its gonna happen. the dealership said the r6 will get roughly 55 mpg ridden conservatively. im just tired of spending 100+ dollars a week on gas. i know theyre a lil older but how are the honda vfr's?

What feels higher? I only ask because seat height on a new R6 is about an inch higher than a R1..

the actual seat height is like 3/4 inch less than the 6.. the seat is wider though. so it feels higher.

thanks for all the responses guys.. bio i wanna go brand new cuz theyre not that expensive. id rather save the headache on buying used and have issues down the road with it.. 8k for a brand new bike isnt that bad IMO. im gonna go to look at hondas and suzukis this weekend.

Just curious, how old are you?

the VFR is a nice bike to start with to be honest. Itll keep up with any other sport bike, but itll be more comfortable to be on for a good amount of time.

ill be 31 in january

i think im gonna take yalls advice and not buy brand new and maybe even stay away from a straight sport bike.... CL has a few VFR's for very reasonable prices.

Honda blackbird bikes are pretty cool, they can be fast as hell to.

I was only curious about your age because it made more sense for you to put 8K towards a home (if you don't own one) rather than a street bike. Just my opinion, good luck.

im about to buy my first bike in january. im leaning towards a 2010 R6 burnt orange and black. anyways.. anyone ever owned or ridden one?
dude get yourself a 750cc or bigger, and remember you might know how to ride the bike ,but what about the people in car's ? they are the one's that kill bike rider's .
i almost lost my life a month after i got married because a dumb *#@$ pulled out in front of me , and for a year i was in two leg braces , so be careful if you get one :th_thumbsup-wink:

Wow, I was just trying to offer a bit of sound advice. It's unfortunate you have to be such an asshole about it. Best of luck on your quest for a bike.

I don't remember him asking you how to live his life.

I recommend starting on a 600 if you're gonna get a newer bike. Anything bigger is not needed, especially for a starter. Check out any bike forum, everyone will tell you to start with a 600 tops, most will say smaller or a v twin. I started with an 05 GSXR 600 and love it. I can't see why you would want a bigger, faster bike unless you're tracking it which you are not. Just my .02
