• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Crazy Taz and his wire tuck.

The red tape is over the butt splices,

FAIL! Is this to clearly mark the worst connection method possible? Taz, I want to be clear and upfront. Crimped splices fail, corrode and have problems no matter how much tape, loom and care has gone into doing them. Soldering with a little heat shrink will give you amazing results that are a permanent solution.

Please man.. before you go any further. Buy a soldering gun.

I have one I just didn;t use it on all of them... I can fix it don't worry thats why I made sure I kept them where I can get to them. So I'll make sure the ones that were not sodered get redone lol I honestly never use crimps but I picked some up and made a few test splices with soder and without and then tested them and compared and they all came out the same.

Some of my friends get frustrated when doing electrical at my place. They ask for a crimp and I hand them the gun and solder. They ask for a tap in and I hand them the gun and the solder.

I've seen tons of stuff screw up, have poor connections etc, all because someone crimped, tapped or thoughts some crush connection thing was viable.

man, screw the heat srink and the solder and screw the butt connectors too,
Finger twist and duct tape is the way to go!!

Solder, heat shrink, wire loom FTW!!! Butts are okay for radios but not when it really matters. I wanna see some full engine bay pics with all this stuff removed... Seeing yours and the Bonneville guy's is making me consider this. But I'm not sure I'm on the same insanity level as you guys...lol

What's wrong with you Kej.. radio is important. Never mess around with it. That's crazy talk.

Almost as crazy as doing this wire tucking crap.

I'd probably have to get a 18 pack or so in me to get the courage to start this... Then probably a big bag of crack to finish it lol.

A radio is important, but it won't kill a motor if it shorts... I use the clear cap crimps like most of the audio shops do on my radio's not real butt connectors.

I knew bill was going to freak out once he saw the butt connectors lol. 10 bucks says if you can get all that onstar wiring out, you will have a good 25 colored wires that are at least 10 feet long. I think half of it goes to the radio and half goes to the mirror....or something like that.

I agree. Butt em up for now but go back over and solder/tube em. Butts are good for testing or in your case time management lol

My new fews box...

huh? I got a smaller coolant bottle and moved it closer to the radiator main thing about that is now I don't have to take the stb off to mess with belts and what not because the original bottle sat under the stb so any thing that called for moving the bottle also called for moving that
