My buddy has a black 2005 Chrysler 300 SRT-8, bone stock and he wants to race me in the new car, probably from a roll. What do you guys think my chances are?

My car is a 99 buick regal GS, Cartuning turbo kit, pt-61 turbo, air to air intercooler, 1.9 rockers, 65 injectors, 3 inc exhaust w/ cut out, tune, etc etc etc you get the point. Oh and a fully built tranny w/ 3k stall and shift kit

Im boosting 14 lbs by the way, put down 361 fwhp yesterday at 14 lbs on pump gas w/ cut out closed.

rmm... they have a 6.1 in them... and I think its like rated at 425hp....and thats stock...With the mods you listed it would be a neat race...but you never know what could happen on the streets

They are heavy heavy heavy pigs. I think you should be able to take him with your set up. With 15% drivtrain loss he is around the 360whp area too. But your car should have alot more tq, and weigh a couple hundred pounds less.

I took a Charger SRT-8 with a catback until 100 and he caught me but I still put at least a car on him at one point and the 300C SRT-8's are waaay heavier than the Charger's anyways...at least I think so...with your mods you'd wax the crap out of him ;)

What are your 1/4 mile times? I'm assuming with a turbo you're in the 12s and that's enough to take an SRT-8.

And I've seen them run 13.9 bone stock with a good driver. (Granted in 100 degree heat and 2700 feet alt.) The commonly accepted trap for a stock one though is around 13.1-13.3 at sea level. So 12.5 with CAI and DRs sounds about right. However, since this person is talking about a bone stock SRT-8 and a "roll" race those things really don't apply.

barley if any. weight compared with a six speed would make it a good race.

you will walk him man, no worries :D

When the 300M SRT-8 came out a few years ago, I was on LS1tech.com religiously. The stock LS1's were getting beat bad enough, and many of them, not just one, that parts were being bought up just to even off or get a little ahead of them. There were a few threads with titles like "bought some new stuff to stay ahead of Chrysler." The guys didn't care about the Charger, but they refused to lose to a Chrysler. The Jeep SRT-8 is no slouch either. That sucker will walk our stock cars...

I could be wrong, But I belive the 05' SRT-8's are just a 5.7 HEMI done up, not the 6.1

Nope, all the SRT-8s are 6.1 I got to play with a brand new one at the dealer I used to work for and I don't think you have anything to worry about. They are crazy fun to drive though.
