Coolant hose

So this is something that just started happening; opened the Hood to clean a bit and noticed that my coolant hose from the Thermostat housing (sorry if incorrect terminology) was cleamped shut. Like a coke bottle With the air sucked out. No noticeable changes in my car. Except my heater doesn't work....at all.

What gives eh?

air in the system hose collapsed, or hose defective and collapsed,or thermostat defective. Change hose and stat and bleed system before it causes a problem you

Heater core is the top of the cooling system. If its low, it begins to lose heating efficiency.
Check for leaks before you add more. Try pressure testing the cooling system to find a leak, if its not visually obvious.

Had this problem with a dodge daytona one time and it was the radiator cap not releasing pressure i'd start there.

Any hose can collapse under enough vacuum. Vacuum is caused by expansion, which pushes coolant to the overflow and then no coolant being allowed to be pulled back in via the cap.

I would start at the cap. A hose by itself or a thermostat should have no way to cause vacuum.

Its fixed!
Hasn't done it since we loosened the valve on top of the t-stat housing.
