swiss cheese mod

i dont know if im posting in the right spot but has anybody tried swiss cheesing their airbox. does it make any difference in power or make the supercharger whine more? ive heard some people say you can actually lose power and if you do put holes in it what sides and where do you put em

Re: swiss cheese mod

how do i remove the resonator from the airbox and what does it look like. i know im a noob.

Re: swiss cheese mod

Essentially, hes saying strap a cone filter to your throttle body and listen to it whine.

Re: swiss cheese mod

yea but when you use a cone filter dont you need to make some sort of heat shield cuz it just soaks up engine heat

Re: swiss cheese mod

doesnt matter. if its on the TB ur pushing way more air to the engine than with silly CAI or Fenderwells. it makes up for all the heat.

Re: swiss cheese mod

should i make my own or just get a k&n or spectre filter. i already bought a k&n drop in for 45 so i dont really wanna spend another 50 on a cone filter i was told spectre makes em for like 25 bucks

Re: swiss cheese mod

45 for a drop in, no chit? wow. You will need a new cone style filter, pick whatever is in your budget. I went cold air because I figure cold>hot. And I like seeing my IAT around 100*

quick question is it possible to put a cone filter directly on the throttle body of the 04 gp's or no because the maf. if i can will i get the same whine as i would if i was using a cai and is the extra heat worth it

merged your threads together. they all had the same subject and were all in the same section. stop doing that.

Intake Manifold > throttlebody > corrugated tubing > MAF > airbox > headlight

The MAF is the hard plastic tube part of the airbox that is attached to the corrugated rubber tube.

When you remove your airbox, you will find that your PCM is located in it. Just zip tie this down; it will be safe getting wet and dirty.
