• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

compooter people

First things first if you want to get some more time out of your machine open the thing up and blow all the dust out. I cant count how many times just cleaning a machine has taken it from falling on its face to running like new again. Another side note to mention alot of the time when i do do this i will take off the heatsink and reapply thermal compound due to it being so hot it bakes to nothing and causes overheating issues aswell. Also look at the compacitors on the board. If any look blown on on the tops that is a tell tale sign your motherboard is on its way out.

Next backup your **** and reformat. Make sure you delete the partition with all your old crap on it and start from scratch. Reapply all drivers, windows updates ect. If your computer is not running like new from this then you have issues and being that that computer is worth no more $100 plan on getting something new.

Now if you plan on getting a desktop, build it. And if your unsure how find a friend that is familiar or youtube how to build a pc. Its really not all that difficult. You can easily build a machine for half the price companies sells them for, but better. For $500 you could have your self a pretty solid gaming rig that would be more than suitible for your needs if you do it right. Intel is my first choice and always has been but if your on a budget the new amd processors pack a punch for very cheap.
Windows 7 is the way to go, although there really isn't anything wrong with windows 8. You just need to convert the desktop, ect. back to 7 for usability.

If your planning on a laptop, **** dell, **** alienware. Overpriced pieces of **** packed into something they shouldn't be incorrectly and to many times cause in premature hardware failure. Good quality laptops would be HP (#1 in my book) acer, asus, toshiba is decent sony. Basicly anything but dell. Having been a certified technician for 8+ years. Id'e say probably 75% of the computers I have worked on have been dell, and most of these have been hardware failures.

If you need anything don't hesitate to ask.

I beg to differ on Alienware. Otherwise everything else I agree with what you said. If your on a tight budget and want a gaming rig and don't plan on moving it around go for a self made desktop. But again if you need a gaming laptop Alienware is easily one.of the top three out there. You can also check out powernotebooks.com . I believe that's the correct site. But you can do a lot of extra customizing on some gaming laptops such as alienwares and still get a decent price with the.factory warranty. Everythimg I have read about that site has been very positive and is the way I will go for my next alienware.

Alienware has always been known for there overpriced cheap halfassed computers that overheat and have hundreds of other issues. You got lucky simple as that.

So all the other people I have met with alienwares got lucky as well? All the reviewers got lucky too? Cmon. Lets be real here. Alienwares are not bad halfassed machines. They are packing nvidias top of the line gpus and intel processors. I hardly consider that half baked material lol.

Yea all packed into tight cases with not that great of cooling and clocked to high for what they are. A desktop is not meant to go into a laptop. You may be bias cus you own one and have had ok results but the fact is im not pulling this out my ass. I have experience in the field and have seen this to many times. Im not going to get into an argument with you over it. Some people say our cars are peices of ****, some love them, some of us know the truth and problems with them. That is not opinion, thats fact.

Well good thing technology has advanced so that we can have gaming laptops lol.
Either way, if your looking for a hardcore gaming machine for laptops go Alienware. Asus has some decent machines as well for a pretty good budget. I haven't had much experience with msi or hp so that's a toss up.

Get a real laptop. Not that Mac BS. Do a spec vs spec.
Mac is really overpriced and they force you to get coverage on it to even change Ram and HDD etc. They tucked alot of the parts under warranty voiding parts unlike a Windows laptop.

MSI is very solid on laptops. They make high quality motherboards also. Also if you want OSX/Mac on a Windows machine, anything is possible...

If you like paying the right price, but on the shelf laptops, like MSI's, Asus, Lenovo's, or just about any normal laptop company. Most of them have multimedia/gaming/balanced laptops.
If you don't care about overpaying for a laptop or anything, get something made by Alienware, iBuypower, Falcon, or just about any of these fancy gaming laptop companies.

If you are cheap like me, buy from the first category I listed AND refurbished. Last laptop I bought I saved just around 800$, ****ing eh.
