im in cincinnati an the temp is dropping.. as of right now is below freezing and recently the temp hasnt been over 45 degrees out side an my car is running what seems to me as "too cool"

i only reached 162F an that was city driving for about 30 minutes.. normal?

Gosh. I'd pull the thermostat and check it. The opening temperature should be inscribed on it. Should say 195. Possible yours says 160. $8 part to replace.

Car should be running ~200*

you dont think its just cause all the cold air is blowing on the engine an cooling it down to much? cause if it sits an idles im looking around
190-180

Nope.

Because I live in Minnesota and its in the 20's at night and when I work in the am, my car still gets to regualr temp if I drive it more than 2-3 miles, which I don't because I work right in town lol.

Question: How, exactly, are you checking your coolant temperature? Going off what the PCM sees, or guessing on the dash gauge?
