Coil Packs

I've got a 2004 GP GTP Comp G. I've got a random miss fire and I've changed the spark plugs: autolite 104. and changed to zzp wires.
So I'm thinking of changing the Coil packs...So i guess the question is what is the best coil pack to go with...OEM or Aftermarket?

why did you change the plugs to a colder heat range? are you modded?

coil packs are OEM all the way. aftermarket coils suck (there are only MSD anyway). they are basically eye candy.

MSD coils actually dont perform as well as the stockers and X3 on the plugs...unless you have dropped pulley sizes, go back to a warmer heat range. Your gas mileage will suffer and you wont be running at peak performance.

Get a multimeter or ohmmeter and mesure the resistance on the coils. Should read between 5k ohms and 8k ohms. Although not recommended, you should not be getting misfires running 104s on a stock car.

Thanks, I called Morad...Got to love that place. Ordering the coil packs tomorrow. $25+s/h under 40,000mi on them.

is it a stuterd or missing out bad????

you can gap the plugs up some to 60. the lower the gap, the ruffer the idle. gas will also play a part in stutering at idle. does it miss going down the road?? just idel??
