Code p1573 after EBTCM replacement

I know what the code means (connection lost between ABS Module and PCM), I just don't know how to go about resolving it. I had a p1571 (connection lost between abs module and TCC) code before, with ABS and TCS lights on, which prompted me to do the swap in the first place. The ABS and TCS lights are off, and the new code doesn't trip the MIL I just happened to notice it when scanning for something else. I have a 2000 GTP, and got the new module out of a 98 GTP, the application chart on a vendor site listed the same part for 98-03 GTPs. Anyone have experience with this?

they should be the same part for those two years, so I doubt the compatability would have anything to do with it. No experience with that code however.

Everything I've read indicated that the EBTCMs are year and model specific and not interchangeable. I've now done two replacement EBTCMs in my car and had to dig up replacements from the same year. The GM parts list does have the replacement GTP EBTCMs from 98-02 as the same part number though. Since I seem to go through one a year, it would be nice to have more options. It might be just fine to use the '98. I'd assume it is unless you exhaust all other possibilities.

Is there any guarantee that the EBTCM is in working condition? If you haven't, clear the code and see if it comes back. I think I had the p1571 when I recently was forced to swap modules too. The Helm's manual had a pretty good troubleshooting chart to work through to identify the problem. Too bad for me, when I did it my results indicated my EBTCM was still fine when it wasn't. It should have a decent chart for the p1573 code though if you have access to a Helm's or equivalent.
