^^^ correct they are switchbacks from superbrightleds.com. cops cant say anything with them because the blinker is amber and i have found it difficult to see the ricers turn signal (night and day) when the bulbs are clear.

I'm throwing switchbacks in pretty soon also but I'll be grabbing the 5000k bulbs. I cannot for the life of me force myself to put anything over 5000k in my vehicles. I'm almost thinking about going to 4300k. 6000k is something you do if you're under 34 years of age :th_laugh-lol2:

With that being said I'm going to have a blacked out set of retro's up for grabs here shortly. Been working on them a little bit this last weekend but with the weather getting nice I've been getting some outside work done around the house. I will put them for sale in my vendor section at the bottom of the home page here on GPF:th_thumbsup-wink:

lol ill be 26 in a month. i dont like anything over 5k either, i think the switchbacks are 5k and so are the hids but doesnt the projector take the hid down a color?

Pretty sure you can get them in 5000k or 6000k. I think you're thinking of 55 watt ballast compared to 35 watt ballast washing out the color :th_thumbsup-wink:

i got 6k, got to have a hint of blue. 5k is just too stock looking for me.

You have 5000k unless you're not using the DDM bulbs I gave you with the projector retrofit :th_laugh-lol2:

If you didn't want them I could've kept them ya know, jk:th_thumbsup-wink:

lol. well i guess i'll look at it as the new ones having an hour more life then lol. like i said they where too white/yellow for my liking, i'm still under 35, i need the blue.

Just finished up a retrofit for Rojo Grandprix here on GPF. Let me tell you there's a lot of work in this retro compared to some. I also want to thank Rojo for a wonderful experience and being a great customer. He was very polite, very nice guy!

I do believe he sent the parts to me last wednesday and I'm just finishing up. There was a few days I had family business to attend and my wifes sisters husband's dad passed away also monday night. I stayed on these usually 5-7hrs each day I worked on them.

There were a few complications along the way. The front edge on the drivers side housing was cracked in 3 or 4 places. JB stick ususally does the trick but the cracks didn't have much surface area for the JB stick to adhere to. Everytime I went to sand the housing it would break right back off. My solution was to take a cutter bit and deepen the bottom channel where the lense goes on. This allowed me to sand the cracked lip down to as flat as possible all the way across. This was the best possible solution that didn't involve having to by brand new headlight.

Upon the first test fit I ran into another problem. The rotation was right where I wanted it but the bi-xenon solenoid in the passenger projector would not function properly. I called Rojo to let him know of the problem. He had another bi-xenon solenoid in Indiana but I simply sent Matt at the retrofitsource.com an email about the problem. He responds with an email that says no problem Eric I've sent you a brand new bi-xenon solenoid out free of charge. I gave him Rojo's name and address, Matt checked his invoicing and said the part is covered under warranty. This set me back a day only because TRS is only an hr away from me so I got the new part the next day. Big thanks to Matt for the awesome customer service.

Upon installing the new bi-xenon solenoid to the bowl of the projector I put the projector back in the housings for the final test fit. Worked perfectly, I spent the better part of today sealing the capsules and re-sealing Rojo's clear corners. Here are some pics for you to enjoy, comments welcome.

By the time I get done with a retro I'm to tired and brains 2 exhausted to even think of a write up. Plus a write would take away my business. All the info on how to do them is pretty much already on here anyways.:th_laugh-lol2:

Not trying to be rude about it but I had to learn for myself. if others want to attempt themselves I've always answered pm's and ?'s to help others anyways.

You can also use a heat gun to take them apart rojo did but this isn't the easy way to do it. What you get is a lense you think is going to come off then you crack your housing.:th_winking:

Here's the output 6000k morimoto. The drivers side is a bit low but when I checked rotation I used rojo's headlight brackets because I wanted to know what they'd look like upon arrival to his house. I could've used my headlight brackets for final test fit but that really wouldn't have made sense. The headlight brackets these are in are pretty much done for, no vertical adjustment on drivers side headlight bracket. However this is pretty close to where my retro lines up on my garage wall.

The difference between no sealed corner on left and sealed corner on right. I also rtv'd all the way around the clear plastic and black housing.

I've really been thinkin about retrofits. The $250 to have you do them + materials really isnt bad like some think it is.
