I think it's because there's no muffler right now.

Not having a muffler has absolutely nothing to do with a check engine light. You either have bad wiring going to the rear 02 or your rear 02 is bad, most likely the 02 is bad.

Yay we have the same code. :th_winking: I actually cleared my P0141 a week ago and it hasn't come back. When it does I'll pick up a new one, and start the insane struggle it is to change one of these things. At least it was on my friends 05 impala. The theory of changing an 02 sensor is extremely simple, it's too bad the rust welds itself on there, and even with an oxy/acc torch, the sensor still was a struggle to get out.

Well I cleared mine and it hasn't came back up so I'm not worrying about it till it does plus I'm getting a used Pontiac g6 also with 64000 miles
