Ok, I been have this same problem with my car for over 3 months now. My check eng light keep pop out the same codes. I took it to a shop and its been there for over 3 months. At frist the guy say it was my computer that went bad. Got a new one my car is still have the same problems. Then it was my wire harness, Got a new one its still have the same problems. I went up there today he said my computer is bad well he thinks when he takes my conputer out and put it into another pontiac it works just find but in my car it has problems. My car want stay started if I keep my foot in the gas i works just fine. It want cut off if I'm driving it but when I come to a stop thats when my car cuts off.
 


The codes keep sayin the samething over and over. Ok let me take it back when my car 1st started having problems My car would start but it would not stay started. People told me to get a tune up. I did. I replace my Mass Air Flow Sensor, My H20 Sensor (Both). But my car still have the same problem and when you check the codes the code would say the samething every time. p0101 P0102. So Thats when I took it to a shop because I just could not fix it. So shop did a full diagnostic and I was told that my computer went bad thats why it keeps sending off False codes. So I paid for a new computer through out the 3 months of my car being at the shop. He would call me as your car is ready I'll go pick it up. Drive about 2 or 3 miles and the check eng light would pop back on and my car would start doing the samething over. take it back to him he'll read the codes and it says the samething p0101 P0102. So Today I went up there and he told me that he took my computer out and put it into another pontiac just like mines and it worked just fine. But as soon as he put it back into my car the problem started again........... I'm to the point i just want to say **** this car but i love it so much

P0101 Trouble Code - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Range/Performance Problem

for starters, with car off, unplug the maf, then start it, if it runs better, the maf is bad.

then you can check the wires to the maf plug for broken insulation, if you see bare wire, theres a problem right there. you would need a new maf pig tail. chances are i think you have a bad wires to the maf. i had the same code put a new maf and new pig tail on, been good for 2 years now.

you can also check your fuse box for a blown fuse, this fuse is for the maf as odd as it sounds. under the hood, or in the car. im not sure where it lives.
 


I'm just going to take it to the deal ship on Monday and when I find out I'll let you guys know. Thanks for the help

Did they really replace your whole wiring harness ? LOL
 
I would definitely start with what scotty said. I had the same problem on the bird, took the MAF off, cleaned it and it was fine.

Really? **** im going to AZ, was about to pay a shop. Do they tell you what the codes mean? I just called them they said they do it for free right now....my check light been on since day one. sorry to OP, ddid not mean to hijack, this post just save my ass $60
