Ditched the m90 setup and wondering if anyone on here had the cartuning turbo kit? I have spoken with Keving (cartuning) and several people who have it I just want to get a little more info so if anyone on here has the kit, reviews?

i cant say that i would have gone with the cartuning kit over the ZZP stuff, but since they are in canada i dont know why you wouldnt.

well i run a cartuning kit but ran a different turbo and tune of course then what they had but i cant say i like it cause exhaust parts of it were stainless and others mild steel from what i could tell. i believe its a older kit not the new ones where the downpipe is cnc mandrel bent stainless as mine, the bends are welded together. then again your still using stock manifolds with it also.

X2, got it for a good price used... wouldn't buy it new over a ZZP kit. There are a few more nice features on the ZZP kits like v-band flanges for downpipe and stainless steel. It's a good kit but it does have a few things I would like changed.

But is it a good place to start for a turbo kit? I have a local guy who wants $2,000 for a used kit with everything with it including A2A intercooler for another $600. If it doesn't satisfy my thirst I could always upgrade like you guys did.

Well if your buying a used kit then I'd say your good to go. $2600 seems kinda high for a used cartuning ic'd kit though. You could get a brand new Z3 kit and put together your own ic for less than $400. What comes with the kit and how many miles are on it, any shaft play or are the seals on the turbo good?

It has 4,000km on the kit and the turbo has no shaft play and doesn't leak he is a friends so I don't think he would screw me over. He just hit a hard time and is demodding his DD.

Here is basically the 4 kits I have to choose from if I were to buy everything new

Cartuning Performance

That is the kit that I can get used

ZZ Performance

The Z3 kit, I like it but once you start adding the DP+shipping and I/c prices add up.

ZZ Performance

The statt kit, one of my favourites because of interchangeable items with the Z7.

ZZ Performance

And the Z7 kit.

If I were to get a kit new what would be my best choice, I am going to be upgrading the tranny through dave. I am looking for mid 11's at the track and tune doesn't need to be taken into consideration as I have that under control. So what would be my best choice of attack

I payed 1300 for my kit and thats why i bought it. I do plan on redoing the kit with new log style headers and maybe redo the crossover.who knows. look at it this way its about 300-400 for the evolution wastegate, turbo depends on which one 500-700 range exhaust piping 400 injectors 200. 2600 doesnt sound that bad but i have seen them cheaper with the intercooler. I would talk him down a few hundred like the 2300 range.

id buy the z3 over the cartuning kit...crappy pieces and crap customer service come with the cartuning kit. look at the pieces compared to ZZP's. not to mention the place where the wastegate goes. the Z3 kit with a great tune will easily put a 3800 into the 11's

Let's not call it crappy pieces, lets just call it cheap 11's. The wastegate is the same location on a Z3 kit also, Z3 just has open dump. The few things that I have changed and would like to change on the cartuning kit is add another bung for the wideband, convert it to open dump wastegate, I modified the stock manifold so cylinder #6 was pointed toward the crossover piece instead of away from it. It kinda takes a bit of finangling to get to plug #6 but i have it down pretty well now. Also upgrade to a T67 from matt m and see if i can get the downpipe v-band clamped.

Do you have any proof of crappy pieces/customer service? Or is it all speculation?

So the only things you would change for the CT kit would be the wastegate, add a bung, and a bigger turbo? (which will come down the road I think I will be good with the 61 for a bit.)

look at all the guys on clubgp who had problems with kevin, and never heard any response back, or would take months to hear from him.
the wastegate on the Z3 is right behind the throttle body, the wastegate on the cartuning is over the rear valvecover...maybe im wrong? open dump is great who doesnt love the woosh sound?? the cartuning kit is a proven kit, but there are better out there such as the Z3...dude its your money, you wanna pour 10grand into a fwd car go right ahead

If that came off as angry it wasn't mean to, it was meant to be read as someone who is looking for answers and likes to know everything before hand and before I commit to something. That's why I came and asked here because I didn't just want one forums POV I wanted many so I can take all things into consideration.

i emailed kevin at cartuning back in the summer around july, still waiting on a response....... lol ohh and i have tryed to call a few times.:th_thumb-down:
