Hey all so here it is like a year and half and back to fiddleing with the tuner and starting to get my busted parts on order... so at some time getting tunes to trying to tune my shift tables have gotten jacked up... and i have had high ****ed up WOT speed/rpm shifting and i am sick of it..
:th_sick1:
So here is my problem at WOT my tach. will damn near run over the 7000rpm from 1-2 the shift is sloppy and LOOOOOooong and kinda "pops" into 2nd. its about 58-60mph when it starts its shift and around 68mph when its set into 2nd. i have it set on peformance shift... (normal is worse) i have tinkered with the shift rpms and speeds and it just ignores them and keeps shifting at the same time. :th_sign-help: Below is my current tables. Trans also has a zzp shift kit installed...

Thank

Gear MPH
1-2 55
2-3 108
3-4 140
2-1 49
3-2 105
4-3 135

Gear RPM
1-2 5900
2-3 5900
3-4 4700

You need to correlate your shift points with the actual shift speeds.
0 out the mph and get some good scans. make note of what gear you're in and what gear shifting into.

Hopefully you haven't beat on it too much with these asinine settings and thrown your balancer pulley

Also make sure your normal shift table isn't telling the thing to shift after your WOT settings.

You probably have to roll into first and that results in some delay before it switches to the WOT table.

Also you're probably making quite a bit of power, that makes it much more difficult for a stock trans to complete the 1-2 shift.

Might be time for a perf rebuild.

WOW... crap i didnt realize i was so high above on the mph... it was SOOOOO long ago when the original tune was done and the factory file is long gone. now i am confused correct me if i am wrong but what you are saying nixon. you want me to enter 0 in all the mph blocks and go do a run or 2 and the car will shift at the rpm settings and scan it so i can record the speeds it shifts at then plug thouse numbers into the mph blocks...

i roll into it so i am not loosing excessive traction to prevent the TCS kicking in but i am against the floorboard i would assume well before it is time to shift so i would think it should be referring to the WOT table. the normal tables are WAAAAY lower in the 45-6MPH for 1-2 shift also the part throttle table in performance 75%+ is 55mph for 1-2 shift as well so it is still WAY off when it wants to shift....
yes i am in the market for a transmission... however i have run into a roadblock for a transmission... TEP and all the performance trans-builders as well as parts suppliers have ran out of the 1" chain or want a Absurd amount of money for it... and from what i have been told the 15/16" chain shatters and breaks with out warning, and the 7/8" has a problem stretching causing it to become a kr issue/"replace when stretched" item... to be honest if i am dropping a pretty penny on getting a performance trans i don't want to have to ever go in that *****... lol any ideas on transmissions i am defiantly in the market for one but figure i would get this transmission tuning issue out of the way and get the computer happy on a burnt out trans then smoke a new trans...

IIRC, (been a while) You need to understand that both the rpm and speed needs to be met in order to shift. Therefore if your rpm is high and your shift speed is low..it doesn't shift til the rpm is met. Zero one of the table and it'll be super easy to work with. Or.. put the stock stuff back in and then tweak it lightly from there.

This is what I have my trans set to...Via my HP Tuners Software i just pulled it up.

Speed
1->2 Shift 42
2->3 Shift 80
3->4 Shift 124
2->1 Shift 35
3->2 Shift 77
4->3 Shift 100

This table is under the Transmission Tab

WOT Shift Speed vs Shift - Normal

Full Throttle Shift RPM - Normal
1->2 Shift 5,350
2->3 Shift 5,275
3->4 Shift 4,400

WOT Shift RPM vs Shift - Performance

1->2 Shift 5800
2->3 Shift 5900
3->4 Shift 5800

I had skimmed a bit and Matt's latest post made me see the trans and chain stuff.

I agree that you wouldn't have a problem with the 7/8 chain. However if you think you are going to put a transmission in, beat the crap out of it daily and have it last 50-100K miles... well that's a pipe dream from the majority of people's experiences. There are a few that have them last and my theory is they dont' drive them for fun.

is that about the same speeds you have for performance? if so from what bill was saying it wouldn't matter it would refer to the rpm to shift. ill save these numbers in a alternate file while out tweaking with the 0 out. sadly i am WAY worried about the idea of tweaking the part throttle tables that have the high speeds for shifting that was originality in there... guess i better go find a stock tune off of hpt and pull all the transmission stuff off of it. While i got you guys does any one mess with the force motor current tables when doing all this modding? i know i really need to go search these forums for something written up on transmission tuning i have caught glimpses of engine tuning that i have on the to-do list..

I realized this later that is my non performance shift speeds. Let me get my pc back out and i'll give you perf shift speed shift tables. I'll have to do that when i get home i forgot i didn't bring my pc to work 2night.

Trans tuning is voodo apparently.

I had a table from a 3800 tuner with a force table that did not adjust based on fluid temp.

Car shifted hard when cold and soft when warm.

Now im back to stock and its much more consistent.

YEAH!!! mine will rip the corset off a stripper when shifting when its cold, but feels like a buttered clutch when its warm... think i will go rip all the trans crap off a stock file and drop it in and see how she runs and go from there.. still worried about pressures and timing though... with all the extra power i would assume pressures would defiantly need upped..
