Car compare what has more problems?

I've owned both. And as far as reliability. I spent less on the mustang, but it was also a car that was rarely abused.
 


well i dont wanna spend more than 4000 right now.
i just had a gp 1998 and still have, trying to fix a hydro-locked engine
i made this car a monstar with aftermarket stuff but and not willing to spend too much for a car right now just need a realiable nice car.

so i drove a 2012 stang and it was driving pretty good. had a lot of power.

so im looking up the car on crigs and i see that i can find a gp 99 for like 2300 and stand for 3400

so i thought maybe its worth it to pay the extra k for the stang if it look more nice.

but then my brother is telling me that its a piece of crap car and im gonna be at the car shop everyday.

so trying to figure out what will be the best for me

a car that looks good and drive good with no leaks issue (hate it)

I'm telling you right now and people are going to hate me for this. Get the mustang. Find one an old man drove that was his baby. Look at the 99-04 models. 94-98 had electrical issues and the gauges had a tendancy to have problems. About the only issues with the 99-04's you will find are exhaust manifold leaks. Has your brother ever owned that body style mustang or is he just another Ford hater in general. The this brand is better than this brand bull**** gets old and half the people don't know what the hell they are talking about. They speak out of their ass cause they have one brand, and have no idea about the other. Cars have come along way and most cars will last forever.

Tnx for your advice. And no my brother had a friend who had a mustang with problems. But he hates my Grand Prix as well. He says buy Hyundai instead.
 


Back when I was looking for a car 3yrs ago it was a toss up between an 02 base Mustang and the 00 GP GT. The GP had way less miles and seemed sporty enough for me while fulfilling my needs at this point in my life. I don't regret not getting it as less than a month after the Stang sold I saw it up for sale on CL and it needed a new engine. I've heard that they are a decent car but price wise it will be cheaper to buy a GP on both insurance and parts most likely. I have nothing against Ford though. Im sure someday I will have a Stang but not the V6 one. lol
 
dude just get another grand prix.. you seen how long your last one lasted.. regardless if you get a v6 mustang youll look like a goof ball IMO.. your never going to find a perfect car.. at one point every car turns into a Piece of ****
 
I have heard that the 99 Mustangs can be scetchy due to that being the change of style. And that is coming from a buddy of mine who loves Fords! lol.
 


im 110% for GM's idk why.. i dont dislike ford but if it came down to a v6 mustang to a v6 grand prix im going for the GP

What part of the style do you mean? The 3.8 and 4.6 were both used in the previous generation. Infact the chassis was pretty much the same and most parts interchange 79-04. It's one of the reason Foxbody guys will utilize suspension components from the new body style and some convert their interior as well.

If you take both platforms performance wise-GP hands down even if its FWD. easier to mod and cheaper to make faster.
