Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Can't get my DHP registered

I installed the drivers for my keyspan and it says com 4 is ready. When I try to register DHP i keep getting the error "unable to communicate with interface".

Com 4 is the only com that attempts to retrieve cable data. It reads for a few seconds then pops the error.

Maybe one of the settings in the keyspan need changing? When I test the serial port in the keyspan w properties menu it says it passes.

It's funny too because I can see the com port is active while it's trying to register, it's like it times out or something

set the comm ports speeds the same, check the key span drive assistant, check its speed. then in dhp, in options, >general options >interface baud rate, make it the same as the key span, then set dhp to the same comm port the key span is on.

theres two speeds, try the high speed first, if that wont work change em to low speed. my home lap top only lets the key span work at the 57,600. the 115,200 wont work at all on my lap top or my desk top.

you do have it plugged into the car and the car on right? i know dumb but well it happens lol

make sure every connection is tight too.

and what OS you using? if win 7 you have to go to property's run as the admin, then play with the comparability change it to XP 2 or 3. see if that helps.

Yep running as admin and tried compatability mode for xp 2/3 vista and win 7, still no luck. Yes the cable is connected and key is in on position. Car flashes with hpt fine so I know it's not the vehicle

not kidding, it took me a week to get it register. knowing what i did last time to get the lappy up and running the desk top was quick.

try changing the keyspan driver, to a XP one.

and then theres all that 1.1 netframe crap and the mcda files iirc that dont like the newer versions in win 7. no idea what those files do but i even went in to the win 7 lappy and deleted all the newer versions, and installed 1.1 the other file was fine.

if you can find a lap top running xp it should just work asap, as long as the speeds and comm ports are set up.

it took 2 tries to get it to work on my xp desk top os. im so glad i kept that OS on a slave drive in my pc lol i use it for off board tuning now. as the lap top crashes. last time it crashed writing i bricked a pcm.

Hmm I'm pretty sure I have an old harddrive that had xp on it. Pretty sure I used it with my DHP too..... I have a harddrive encloser as well. Not sure how to run the software that way though
