CamShaft thoughts

Now that I think about it , all the cams I've heard had an aftermarket exhaust of some sort. Maybe they also changed the idle to sound badass for the videos. Who knows
 


It's boring, yes.

Just recently tossed an L36 with a VS and ported heads/headers into a car.

It's quiet as hell and you can't even tell it's modified.
 


Off the top of my head

s3 cam was 222/228 and @1.6 it's .54 and .55
vs
xpz cam was 217/225 and @1.6 it's .56 and .53


But it if you're against the longer duration cams , a s1x is 210/221 and a xp is 206/216 (even smaller)

but it I didn't figure this out for the xp because I had the s1x already installed. I was tinkering with the idea of using 1.8 SLP rockers with that cam to bring my lift up to .57/.59 with the same duration.

then the saying goes for anything with .55 or more needs 140# springs or greater
 


How you like the sx1 cam? Seems like the sx1 is a lil more powerful than the xp but a lil less than the xpz, so its in between those two
 
I figured xpz would make the most power. Seems like the sx1 cam is the sweet cam. Hows the sx2 cam?
 
I was debating over the xpz and s3 but I still couldn't find a dyno sheet. Don't care too much about the numbers but the curves at which the power is made.
 
The s1x was great and would have kept it and added rockers. But I had a brand new motor and heads waiting as well so figured why not just do a whole new build.
