• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

well i was going to get a different engine and build it then drop it in and i want to get the cylinder all smooth like a 0 mile motor. so wont i need to get some pistons that are a little bit bigger?

did the motor run before you took it out? why are you rebuilding it? people really like doing things the hard way these days, eh?

i suppose you could just waste money. if it ran well before you took it out then i dont see why you would have even cracked it open.

i never tried because its just so damn cheap to buy another block.

im rebuilding mine. getting an l36 block and having it aline honed, new cam bearings, degreased, new freeze plugs for $230. then im buying new main and rod bearings, piston rings and head gaskets, ans head bolts. another $250. it will be a brand new motor basically. i dont wanna worry about the motor anymore so thats why im rebuilding it.

I dont see how rebuilding is that bad of an idea Its not rocket science just make sure its all to spec and go if you have troubles building a bottom end you dont need to work on an engine

because rebuilding it costs just as much as buying another block. saves time, which in turn saves money.

if u want everything brand new then yes. but a rebuild is just new bearings and rings. hone out the cylinders and new freeze plugs. which costs about 600. short blocks are around 1500 brand new so.

exactly. its not that big of a deal. just take your time and double check everything. but there are some people who pay to have their car worked on.
