Cam or rockers?

Well while the engine sits on the stand i sit here seriously considering a mod most easily installed with the engine out of frame the question is which one? Cam or rockers? If it were rockers id be going 1.9 so i dont have to do a bunch of head work. If a cam itd be an S1X. Give me your votes and reasons why. Also those with one or the other please specify which u have and please include what all other things u suggest changing at the same time to maintain reliability. This is going to be a decision made by tomorrow. One the other or neither. So any help is greatly appreciated.
 


my votes six cam, with a good tune you can get better gains then using 1.9 rockers cost wise the cam maybe a bit more but the engines out and ready most people do rockers cause they dont want to yank the engine for the cam.

plus six cam respends well with stock heads.
 
^ thanks for the input. cam is the route im kinda thinkin but still not 100% thats why i posted to see what others think and their experiences.
 
I vote for the cam because the motor is out already.....If you wanted to later, you could always do the roller rockers because you wont have to pull the motor to do so........and then you would have both if you wanted.
 


^ thanks bio i had thought i read that overall s1x was the best out of all the cams usable with the stock heads. Unfortunately after i made this post though i double checked my bank account an adding everything up moneys a little tighter than i thought so neither is going to end up being an option right now. its extremely upsetting. if it were earlier in the summer id buy it but its too late to be spending that kind of dough cause i don't have time to make it back an i need the money to survive at school in 2 weeks. only way is to just do it anyway an pay it off when i get paid for all my work this summer in a week or so.
 
XPs are for ZZP leg humpers. the s1x is a proven 11 second cam. anyone with an xp doesnt run in the 12s half the time. the powerband is better with the s1x and so is the idle.
 


thanks bio. it was so hard for me to keep from spending what little money i have on that cam today when i went to intense. i think i really am going to get it in the near future though

so true. if only i could find the video of the s1x running an xp car. both with bolt-ons but the xp had a fullsize intercooler also. the s1x was faster.
 
Faster can be many things. I spec'd out the XP and S1X and am a recommended Intense installer. IMO both are good power making cams.

Best of luck getting straight info, good customer service once the money transfers hands or any warranty help from ZZP.

My S1X is faster than Bio's. :cool:
