Cam install questions

You don't have to remove the balance shaft, you DO have to remove the balance shaft gear.

You can leave the balance shaft in place, or remove it, but then you will have to block the oiling holes.

Removing the gear will allow clearance for the double roller, and it will keep the balance shaft from spinning.

The balance shaft is designed to counter engine vibration at idle.
 
okay, I just wanted to make sure that pulling the cure of wasn't gonna do anything damaging. It doesn't matter if I just leave the shaft in there?
 
No most people leave it in there since it is easier then pulling it out and plugging the holes.
 


Alright everyone, here's my updated list for my project. Got about a month before I start on her and I'm just getting your opinions again.

Tog headers
3.4 pulley
60lbs injectors (going e85)
130 springs
Double roller

Should I still stay with stock push rods and lifters? And s friend said I should go sx1 not xp. Is there a huge difference between the two cams?
