Bullit Wheels

I am wondering if the bullit wheels from americanmuscle that are for the 94to98 stang that are17x8 fit a 98GTP with no problems.

Yes and no. I believe they are a 5x114.3 bolt pattern while W-bodies use 5x115. They will fit and be fine for a while, but prolonged use has seen plenty of sheered studs. :th_shakinghead1:

The endless argument. Thousands have run them for over a decade with no problems. Some have had issues. A ton of other issues associated with it over just the minor deviation in bolt pattern from operator error, flaws, etc. The list of people with no issues far outdoes the list with very rare and limited problems. With that said it isn't the exact correct spec., but I've heard of just as many or more that had stud issues while using the correct 5x115 bolt pattern.

Those are all Imp owners profiles, where's the threads? LOL. Not to mention he is asking for a GP. Just kidding.:th_nanana::th_winking:

I have also heard of this issue...but I run 5x114.3 bp for the past 3 years and between AutoX'ing and the way I drive I have only experienced problems with tire tread not lasting:th_winking:

But weren't those guys running 20's? It can happen there is no doubt about it. But there are probably underlying conditions to those cases of sheered studs in conjuction with the 5x114.3 bp.

I know this thread is a lil old but I have been thinking about the bullit wheels too. Wouldn't using ARP studs pretty much cure the shearing problem?

i use 03 cobra wheels with drag radials and have no problems with studs breaking and trust me im not easy on it i took out 4 cv shafts in one month and btw there is a limit to the lifetime replacement at oreillys

Do all the bullitt wheels fit or did they change the bolt pattern for the newer ones? And with the wider tire would arp studs be within my best interest if i were to purchase a set of bullitts? There is discussion of them in the thread but are they really needed? Or just a good caution purchase to avoid sheered studs?

the newer ones (05+) have a better offset for our cars. they fit better. the earlier ones (~94-04) are a lower offset and stick out more, so they may rub with the wrong tires, springs/struts, or not having your fenders rolled.

i have a set of cobra rims that are 17x9 with a +24 offset. im going to be lucky to not rub with the tires i want to run (255/45/17), which are a little smaller diameter than stock tires.

Thanks for the imput so if i want to lower my car i dont wanna get the older wheels unless im lowering just a little or should i only opt for the newer style if i plan to lower my car. Im planning to drop it with the intrax springs which is 1.6 an 1.8 so im guessing that would rub terribly?

it really is different from car to car. you have to put them on and see what your conditions are. the thing im worried about is rubbing on my trailing arms in the back. i already have my fenders rolled from when i was running 19s last year so im not worried about that.
