Re: Budget 04 comp g running total $3688.89

Victor Reinz is the company who was contracted to make the original GM headgaskets.........for those that didn't know that.

Re: Budget 04 comp g running total $3688.89

Boo. At least I got my car torn apart today and old gasket material removed

Re: Budget 04 comp g running total $3688.89

Got it all back together today and cleared the couple of gallons of water out of my exhaust only to find it's still leaking in the same cylinder

Re: Budget 04 comp g running total $3688.89

I don't think it's warped. It was checked for flatness before install and never overheated

Re: Budget 04 comp g running total $3688.89

I'm gonna throw my one good old head on it and see if it's that. I don't think the blocks warped since its been ok the last 20k miles

Re: Budget 04 comp g running total $3688.89

I plan on tearing into it tonight if i can keep my eyes open. I've been up since 2 for work and didn't get to bed until about 11:30.

You have a strange issue sir...wonder if you head has a hidden crack somewhere...I hate weird issues like that...fwiw I used Felpro headgaskets on my 5.3 and so far its been perfect...for how sludgy the oil was when I bought the truck I am surprised it even runs
