Brando's All New Cruze

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

I hear it's going to need a trans swap soon. Isn't that why he canned the last one?
Nope. canned the blue car because I thought the white car was nicer and well taken care of and well modded.

I was wrong, but you live and you move on. Learning to love this one lol

mountcodyman, dunno where that came from, but the car doesn't really have any rust.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Brandon, after the trans, we need to get a full stack in there and get those heads looked at. There's got to be a lot more on the table.

you just need to stop buying grand prixes.

No, you pick different, and you regret it.

I'd rather an L26 car than my volvo at this point. The torque is just so much more awesome, even though there's so much less of it.

Re: The "Other" Blue GTP

Got an update..

Yesterday, flushed the coolant got all the dex out and put green in. Pretty successful flush if I say so myself.
Also added a cig lighter to a switched fuse for my radar detector. Then while I was in there I thought why the hell not.. so I ripped out ALL of the wiring on the interior for accessories (the intercooler pump, kc daylighters, the switches, all that crap) and just put the intercooler on a switched power source. It got a new tstat and serpentine belt as well. No more squealing.

Funny thing was I was in the floorboard (fuse box is inside remember) taking the wires off of the stud at the top of the fuse box and as the nut was coming off the interior lights started flickering. I thought holy ****... this car will never run again lol. Wire tuck makes me so nervous. But all is well :)

Also had found a new fuel filter but the line is too rusty for my comfort level so I chickened out. And both fog lights work now, amazing what bulbs can do.

Still of course need a transmission, Josh was able to clean up the trans settings and make it feel a bit better for me but she's still shot. Front left wheel bearing is horrendous, sounds like I have a wooden wheel over there. And the axles of course still crappy. But the priority is the transmission. I'm trying to let the little stuff hang in there so that I can focus on a trans.

*****If anyone is interested in my kc daylighters, let me know.*****

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Yeahhh.. that car is hard to keep clean. Drive back to Grand Rapids covered it in little black specs.. ugh.

Proud of it though, did good in a couple races against Mr. Smuts! But the entire trip took the bad wheel bearing from going bad to shot.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Ya. thinkin seriously about ordering one asap. Stupid hotel... I don't even see their charge on my account. Dunno what's going on with that..

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

you make me want to wire tuck my fuse box.

just do the wheel bearing, theyre super easy on our cars and not all too expensive either.
i have a spare one like 3in. away from me right now, thats in good shape with like mayyybe 1500miles on it, but just needs the abs connector soldered back on ( fcking jersey potholes -_- )

i'll give it to you just to have it gone, i'm tired of moving it around lol

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Been a minute since I updated..

Today I swapped out my throttle body for a 97 tb (thank you Dan!). The one before had a mild port job and the throttle plate stuck a bit, thus making it a bit more involved to tune and sticky throttles just suck in winter. Also picked up a 300m input shaft!

Josh totally revamped the tune and dialed in my maf curve. We were able to get it pretty lean at 17* timing and 7-8lb boost. Probably gonna try the 3.25 once we get this setup dialed in to have something solid to work with.
Also, the idle was set at 850 so we backed it down to stock 750.. it sounds a little better at idle :D

Here's a vid..
Going forward, gonna get her some new tires before winter and just ride it out. Tax time she will get a tranny rebuild as well as a new chain and dampener. After that, who knows. I've been simmering on going full stack phenolic or a bigger cam.. I know she needs a few suspension pieces so I'll probably try to hit on that before I go too far.
She's slowly coming together :)

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

is that a gt1 cam? ones that are for n/a 3800? because if you sell for the right price consider it sold lol.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT
