Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Do Dark Blue/Silver color on your blower, with the same color scheme as I just did on my Gen V.

Yum.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Yeah.. my old car was posted for sale last night. At first I HAD to have it back. But I slept on it and I had a realization. The grass wasn't greener then, it's not greener now. I DO like the white car, just needs some tlc. I'm not going to get ahead by swapping, especially since that dingus says the belt snapped and rubbed a hole clean through the power steering reservoir.

I just had a gut feeling that said NO. So I didn't. he kinda copped an attitude and said well I'm selling it tonight then. okey then. oughta flag his post for using my pics

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

Yeah I love how he claims that he did all that work to the car lol

Re: The "Other" Blue GTP

Today I went over to Dan's house to help out with his ker, ended up addressing my exhaust leaks. I had 3 leaks, one at the end of the dp, one before the catback flange, and another at the catback flange.

I can forgive the first two, the saddle clamps aren't the best. But. The catback flange had two different bolts, one was smaller around than my pinky, neither were tight. The only purpose they served was to keep the exhaust from coming apart. One of the bolts had two nuts on it and one of which was seized to the bolt. The other just as fvcked. Couldn't get either loose. :th_shakinghead1: dunno what the hell the goal was there but...

So. 2 out of 3 got fixed (put some nice band clamps on with rtv). The catback flange is still loose so I'm gonna try to just cut the nuts off the bolt tomorrow. Slowly but surely making a half ass a whole ass

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

It was so nice today so I spent the entire day with the car. Decided to fix the last and biggest exhaust leak, the catback flange.

Luckily the one side just snapped and I pulled the bolt out. But the other side had two nuts, so I backed one up good and tight and slowly worked the other off, then the other. Turns out the one bolt hole on the res was I guess closed up from previous corrosion? IDK. So I drilled that hole back to a normal size so it could hold a big boy bolt.

Some RTV and some hefty bolts later... she purrs like a kitten, no leaks.

Lastly, I secured the console down with the missing brackets, installed some trunk carpet, and deleted the onstar CRAP! She's slowly gettin up to par!

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

i think you could have used just a bit more rtv lol just f'in with ya. as long as it dont leak no more right.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

HA! Right. I believe in some rtv now. Down on my back laying in grease and grime dammit it won't ever leak again when I'm done LOL

But now that I see the pics I wish I had positioned the clamps a bit differently but.. the SD goose neck is a bigger eye sore anyway.

Re: Brodon's 02 GT

they look high enough. at first i thought they looked a bit low, but they should clear. the bolted ends of the clamps.

i got one of them on my res to intermediate pipe. the U clamp was not getting tight enough and blew the pipe out of the res 3 times. then it got clamped with a band clamp, so far, so good. ( no rtv either, no leaks )
