My doors have never squeeked on my coupe. Neither have they on the Camaro, which I think has longer doors than a GP.

Broke the trans coming home from work today. I believe 4th gear is gone. I was cruising along in 4th, passed someone, and it never made it back into 4th.

Per Bill's suggestion I went out, driving 50ish mph, Aeroforce said current gear 4, in D I was sitting at 2k ish rpm. I kept my foot on the throttle in the same place and manually shifted to 3 and there was NO change. Went back to D and no change.

That part makes sense that 4th is gone (nevermind that it's an 03 and supposed to be hardened. crock of ****) but I'm also getting this noise, sounds like a time warp machine or something. I have a video of the sound, and also a video of the Tach as I go back and forth from D to 3, I did it about 3 times or so...

You can hear it best towards the end of the video after I rev it.



And here is the tach. Cruising at 50mph~ in D, shift to 3 and back a few times.

I'd rather have it rebuilt than take chances on a used one. I might look into having the 4th hub replaced since a rebuild is out of the budget right now.

Can a clogged pump really vary in pitch like that? I was under the impression a clogged pump would more closely sound like a bad powersteering pump or loud blower.

Sounded like a whiner to me from the video I got in a text last night.

Like Bill said, I'd start at the filter...

Maybe toss in a bottle of stop slip and pray while you're at it? Seems easy enough.
