• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

A GP at the yard has the bose system in it, is it worth doing the swap over the stock components? It'd just be the speakers, I already have an awesome head unit.

No.

The bose amp has its own EQ settings hardwired into it which means they'll sound best with those settings.

In other words, the bose speakers only sound good with the rest of the bose system.

I have the Bose system in my GP. It sound's great!

They really do! Theres only two things they lack, ability to go past ~90 dB and deep bass. Sometimes high end extension as well and sound stage. But those are typically install related issues.

if i found some front bose speakers would they sound good in my gp? i have a pioneer deck and 12" sub...need 2 find different front speakers badddd

in route 14 man?? dont worry i got my REAL tunes and speakers but what color was it BLACk? i saw 1 that had roof rails but some1 took em off =[

Yeah I think it was black, meh my car came pretty loaded so I've got components already, those mixed my head unit sounds pretty good.

Pick up the most expensive 6.5" component speakers you can afford without spending more than $200 for the set. That or you could actually try to do a completely custom design, aka pick your own drivers. Try these sites:

That would be quite the task :o

Actively tuning and choosing cross over points involves a lot of reading/education. Hopefully he's willing to work for what could be the best sound he'll ever know(if its done right) ;)

Turning a knob seems easy enough to me :th_nanana:

I understand all the science behind it but, in a car, the environment changes (opening/closing windows) to a degree where not even EQ makes much sense.

Bose sucks. I ripped mine out and went with infinity kappa speakers and new wiring for cheap and its still a big difference...

How many people accidentally send full signals to tweets? :/

Hence an inline cap to act as a high pass filter where it will protect the speaker, yet not interfere with the frequency response curve.

<---doesn't have a lot of faith in people's ability to apply knowledge.

Car audio myth's run rampant, installation miscues are a dime a dozen, and people refuse the possibility of enlightenment.

I probably just have a bad attitude...my bad. Of course my installation is far from perfect. My goal was SQ on the cheap. Turning into a headache trying to be cheap :P Eats into performance of the system too.

600 watts on tap for the sub and its supposed to be cheap? :D And I thought I was cheap running a 150 watt amp... :th_laugh-lol3:

People don't think. Simple concept. Most people are stupid. See it everyday at my work. Someone wanted drum backing plates and asked me for differential covers.

ha...

on tap and useful are two different things ;)

Those Cadence amps were CHEAP!! I think $200 for both(nib)? I was able to acquire the sundown SAX-100.4(nib) for $125 through a trade. Costs is nowhere near worth :D However, speakers are different. I was raped on those deals...namely because I had to have a/d/s/. $450 between a set of 346cs(nib) and 346is(used). The cs won't ever be used either...I wanted the Woburn Massachusetts set vs. the Chinese made. Poor research on my part :(
