• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

For the record i am a mechanic i just leave that performance stuff up to you guys. I just did a timing belt 2days ago on a 05' Dodge caravan 2.4L not hard but it is what it is. No need for judgement but any help is appreciated, thats part of what this forum is for

You are providing ZERO help for yourself though.

We have asked you a few questions and you have given zero answers in return. How can we help you if you don't give us anything?

Just saying it "feels like the boost is bleeding off" gives us nothing to go on, we aren't driving the car and we cannot see anything that is happening in real life.

You say you do mechanic work for a living but you can't even diagnosis your own issues??

How does that work? It doesn't matter if this a performance based issue or a run of the mill issue with a clients vehicle, there must be a story and data to back up any situation.

I'm not trying to yell or be rude but this is just the truth.

Every thread by Dee is painful. Apparently he's a mechanic with several years of experience...

Didnt wanna point out any post but i didnt see this at first. Performance with superchargers/turbos can sometings be a diff ball game than just average everyday mechanic work.

I be a lil busy at work all day so i was just trynna get a quick suggestion( lol like i always do).

Honestly i didnt know if it was boost bleeding off or not, now that im thinking about it while i was watching the boost guage drop a lil maybe i was just simply letting off the gas/accelerator slightly and didnt realize it

Wow.... I wouldn't go around calling myself a mechanic. Just because you change oil at jiffy lube doesn't make you a mechanic. Also please tell us where you work so nobody goes there. Come one man.

Never worked in a jiffy lube, no need for sarcasm.

But any way try changing a timing belt and let me know

1.3L Mitsubishi, 2.3L Ford, Mazda 4 banger of some sort, 2.4L Mitsubishi, that's what I can think of off the top of my head. I'm also not a mechanic....

Jeff

Do you, but dont say i work for jiffy lube nor tell people to not come to my shop. Im a mechanic, your a mechanic, it is what it is

I am not a mechanic. I don't fix cars for a living, my job does not entail that I work on cars, although I did clean the TB on our Ford truck along with replace the alternator, and change all the brakes, replace the head gasket and timing belt on the forklift and rebuild the mixer and evaporator and test the LPG system on it. Replace the ignition module and everything that is involved in that job (took the head to a machine shop for that work. But I'm not a mechanic. I am very mechanically and electrically inclined, but I am not a mechanic.

You act like that's difficult.

3.0 SOHC Mitsubishi V6 (3 or 4 times)
3.0 DOHC Mitsubishi V6 (on more than one car)
1.8 SOHC Mitsubishi
2.0 DOHC turbo Mitsubishi (several times on multiple cars)
2.0 DOHC (4g63) NA Mitsubishi (more than once)
2.0 DOHC (420A) NA Mitsubishi (more than once)
2.0 SOHC (420A) Dodge Neon (more than once)

The list could go on, but I won't. And I have done all those and I don't work as a mechanic.

You guys just love to bicker, lol. Never said a timing belt was hard but i will say and guarantee that if u work at juffy lube......then chances are u dont know how to do a timing chain.
