BLUEGTP91's BUILD...Page 25 has some vids :D

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

i have a JP, which when i bought it was higher quality than the rollmaster. i bought it used from a turbo guy out here in WI, so im sure the chain in total has over the 30k that ive ran it.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

Just sayin' dude....you're one of the lucky ones. I've personally seen a handful fail just around my area.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

Yup...I'm just so skiddish about buying it...after spending all of this money I want it to run for as long as I have it...not break chains, or screw up internally...not again.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

i dont like the thought of constantly having to open up the front cover to change the chain and dampner.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

Although, the stock chain doesn't fail NEARLY as much as the aftermarket ones.

If they're better than they used to be, then I'd be all about it. Last I checked, people were still having problems a few months back.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

So Nick, which cam are you going with? Thrasher or PRJ?

I seen and heard Chris Greens car (the car in the video) at the first Alamo City Shootout back in 2003. The Thrasher cam hands down is the best sounding cam i've heard in a 3800 to date. Second would be an Intense Stage 3 cam and heads setup.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

he bought a TEP. cant wait to see what he can do with it since i never got to run mine with a good tune and a small pulley on it.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

Basically ladies here is what this whole build is boiling down to and why it isn't going to be at Branson this year...turns out a buddy of mine who I helped do a GT40 Heads/Intake swap on his bone stock FiveOh SN Stang actually dirt races for a crazy guy that builds big blocks...got to talking to him on the phone and when he asked what motor he said...OH!! The 231...I've done a few high horsepower GN's so you'll be in good hands. I flipped...really glad this turning out the way I had planned it...so then he told me...all for under a GRAND mind you ;)

The block is getting blueprinted and everything in the rotating assembly 100% balanced. Exhaust ports are getting hogged to the size of my header primaries granted there is enough room in the head itself, 5 angle job milled .100, with over-sized valves, #130 Springs and Titanium Retainers, Block is also getting something he called a symmetrical balance which he does on all of his race motors (I am doing some research on it now because I didn't know about it) where he will measure the height of both of the heads and make sure they measure equally from each side to one certain point on the crank...that way each piston will be making the same amount of power and one not have a little more than the other. He is plugging the balance shaft up and I am going to be running a Rollmaster Double Roller (Machining the Crank Gear :D )...and yes...I'll have The Thrasher Race Cam with a custom HP Tune...also I'll have on the car is my new intercooler, redone supercharger, and as small of a pulley as I can get away with...and if the budget allows...PRJ Fuel Logs are gonna compliment my newly bought 42lb. Green Top Ford Lightning Fuel Injectors...I can't wait...this thing is gonna haul :D

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

Nice! Looking forward to the finished product.

Once you get that thing running you'll need some break in miles, drive down here to OKC and show it to me! :-)
