• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

BLUEGTP91's BUILD...Page 25 has some vids :D

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

seriously, what cam are you using? if youre putting that XP back in your motor ill come down there and personally slap you. go bigger or dont do it at all. :p

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

Slap me Nancy :p

The XP is still in the car...don't worry. The other goodness is indaboxa ;)

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

are you still running stock heads? if youre running ported heads with an XP then youre losing out on a ton of gains. im sure you know well enough to at least put rockers with that cam to get some more lift out of it...hopefully..

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

I will...I don't have money for rockers now but they are coming in the future...this is just the damn good basis I have wanted to build upon for a long time ya know?

And the heads are getting done too...a hogged out port and sexy polish, #105's, Viton Seals, etc...I wish 5 angle :D But that isn't happening, at least not now...so nothing too crazy...hopefully just a nice L36 build with a 3.4", headers, cam, and tune with no knock. I'll be happy.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

your gonna blow it again. just leave the car alone already.

Since when did you post here? :D And I thought I only had the honor to be graced by your presence on the local boards...nice to know you care dean :th_jester:

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

Now where is that smiley of the guy just shaking his head....dammit

Nick - you know the drill - but I'm gonna say it again anyway. Pay attention to the details - clean out bolt holes thoroughly, clean, clean, clean, and then clean it again. Pay attention to torque specs and assembly lube is cheap - so use the fawk out of it. You know that I know first hand about doing a "fast" build and breaking one in on the way to Branson...

This is getting REALLY down to the wire Shannon...trust me. All I know is if she gets down to Branson it'll be on a whim. And with people betting against me from making it wants me to get down there so much better. And you know who you are ;) My block and heads are getting done right now at RAD's and I am hoping to buy most of if not all of my gaskets sometime after I get paid this week. My goal this time is just not to take out half of my garage in the engine pull...which has already been done and I am waiting on the engine stand and block for get to my house...I've got a little over a month...hopefully I can pull this one out of my ass and get it done :th_thumbsup-wink:

And thanks man...I know full well about your Branson build in '07. I don't plan on beating on this one until I have the money for an intercooler...or more money for that matter. I can't afford another one until I get promoted...which was supposed to happen mid-July but thanks to the bank's 90-day policy...I have to wait until the END of Sept...awesome :(

Who cares who is betting against you - you are the one paying for this. If it doesn't get done - it doesn't get done - and you'll drive the damn Cobalt down. I can't tell you how bad it gripes me to have to drive my car down all busted up in the front - but I have no choice at the moment...and I'm still going to go. I'm just going to hang out with some friends and chill for a couple of days. But I do understand the burn to get it built and drive it down - trust me. All I'm saying is like Mark told me - it isn't worth breaking it if you rush through it just to drive it down there.

I'd offer to help - but I can't even finish sh!t I've been working on for over a year. :( If you have any questions - you got my number.

Re: BLUEGTP91's BUILD!!

LOL @ the Cobalt...it'll be the Cavy if anything that thing can roll nearly 500 miles to a tank if we sit around 68-72 mph :D And if you did come to assist dude, there'd be food and drinks and a A/C'ed garage to work in...so no worries there LOL

If you get bored lemme know...you can drop by if you want haha :p

And for sure on the rushed part...I'll know August 25th if I'll be able to swing it to get done or not...
