• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Blower install tips, hints.

Just because yours didnt doesnt mean that it doesnt happen. Its especially important when using a silicone gasket as it tends to give a little bit more than a paper gasket.

As long as you don't tighten them down like a hard ass you should be fine. A little over sung should be about 15-20ftlbs

After some deliberation and coaxing on my dads part i have decided to rebuild the blower.

I don't want to. Its not broken and rather pricey to do. As far as i know this is what i'm supposed to replace.

1) Snout seal (x1) $20
2) Snout Bearings (x2) $30
3) Needle Bearings (x2) $40
4) Coupler (x1) OEM=$15 ZZP=$30

Total = $120 (w/ zzp coupler)

My question, are there some internals that go bad on an extremely rare occasion? If so i will not purchase them.

Are there some parts that are impossible to remove without destroying? (snout seal or needle bearings it seams).

Do i have to remove my MPS to do a rebuild?

Is the upgraded zzp Coupler worth the extra $15?

Thanks!

Needle bearings rarely go out, so I wouldn't really think about those....and you can get a snout seal from me for $10 shipped instead of $20 from ZZP. Unless you can actually feel slop in the bearings, or they "catch" you may not need to replace those either unless you really want to. Unfortunately, you will have to remove your MPS to change anything in the snout.

My dad is really pushing for me to rebuild the whole thing properly, even though it really does not seem necessary. He would be helping me with the rebuild so im not really gonna argue with him.

Is their a place i can get the whole rebuild kit for cheaper then ZZP?

Is the ZZP upgraded Coupler worth the extra $15?

Parker usually has the rebuild kits available. I've gotten a few things off of him and haven't had any problems. See if he has any through his site.

Hey guys thanks!

I'm still waiting to install it, after talking to a few people on here and a fabricator who specializes in aluminum welding i have decided to epoxy the silencer slots. Still waiting for the epoxy to arrive, i had to special order it.

Unless i am in some sort of rush i would like to create a write up of this with some cool pictures.
silencers? ok..im guessing that they silence the blower. i want a load blower so where is this silencer and what do i use to seal it since i got my spare blower all rebuilt and waiting for the intercooler i might as well make this upgrade too.

I saw your question was answered on the other thread. Once you take your blower off they are / \ looking slits on the outlet of your blower. You cant miss them.
