Use seafoam or STP complete system cleaner or best of all: GM fuel system cleaner.
If you don't want to pay 20 some bucsk for GM fuel system cleaner Techron Fuel System Cleaner made by Chevron has almost the exact same chemicals in it. Its like 12 bucks
they're all around 17-18 gallons.
Not sure why mine is not 17-18 gallons. From E, it takes around 13 gallons to fill up.... and that is fillng it after several "clicks" off.

Maybe different sub models the tank size is different? Possible?
all gauges are a bit different car to car. but also keep this in mind, when the low fuel light comes on, you should have 100 miles of travel left in the tank, so there's 3 or 4 gallons right there in the bottom of the tank.
ive also noticed in my regal it only takes 13 to 14 gallons to fill it up from E.
You have a 17 gallon tank, read your owners manual lol.
Well then i guess i should stop freaking out in a middle of a drive when my low fuel light comes on. I know the most ive ran before putting gas in was about 317. I always assumed it was 13.5 gallons because of filling up after 317 miles and it would stop around 13 gallons. I usually avoid the low fuel light and under the quarter of a tank line is when i put a little bit back in to over at least half a tank.i thought i just cleared this up.
every car has a reserve of 100 miles in the tank when the light comes on, thus leaving at least 3 to 4 gallons in the tank when the light comes on. 4 + 13 = 17 last time i checked. we all have a 17 gallon tank. plus the fuel lines and filler neck.
I did get some Pro-Gard fuel injector cleaner with techron additive for about $5If you don't want to pay 20 some bucsk for GM fuel system cleaner Techron Fuel System Cleaner made by Chevron has almost the exact same chemicals in it. Its like 12 bucks
