• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Be kind, I'm new. :)

Good day everyone. I get my "new to me" car on Monday ( 04Mar2013 ). It is a 2003 Grand Prix Special Edition. My previous car was a 1999 Alero, so atleast I am keeping it in the family. :) It is completely stock right now, and I'm not sure what all I will do to her, but starting ideas are projector w/HID headlights, maybe some snazzy tails, and a custom engine cover. I will no doubt have a few questions that arise, but I will do my best to search out the forum for previous threads first.

Browsing this forum before I purchased her, was very helpfull in confirming my decision that I wanted to buy this car. I look forward to even more helpfull hints, and who knows, maybe I can even end up helping someone out.

Here are a few threads of idea's to information to help you out. Plenty of info on this site and we are willing to help.

Just make sure to read and research a lot.

Before creating a thread about a question, search it on this forum or google first, but if no dice, then create a thread.

Glad to see another GP owner and welcome.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your new wheels!

:)

No worries everyone is nice till we get to know ya', the the gloves come off...

(just kidding)... Lol

So, I'm thinking for my first "mod", is a new set of headlights. I did some checking, and so far there are atleast 794 different sets of headlight assemblies one can get for the '97 to '03 Grand Prix (or atleast it seems that many!). Now I was thinking maybe HIDs, but then you run into the problem of the daytime running lights (which I do want to keep) keeping a HID bulb at low power, which apparently isn't good for the bulb. Then, if I'm not mistaken, you can get HIDs that use a HALO light for the DRLs. Then..... the originals use a single bulb for the high and low beam, but I am pretty sure there are sets that you can get that come with a separate high and low beam. WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What does a guy do for making his headlights look better than the stockers?? My car is a 2003 GTP (Limited Edition), and is a silverish in colour, and I want to go with blacked out lights. What do you all think of these lights?.......... CG® - Black Halo Projector Headlights with Amber Reflector - 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix CG Halo Projector Headlights - CG 02-AZ-PP97-PBC-R-A ....... This is something like I am wanting to get. Now, these aren't HIDs, but then since they aren't I don't have to worry about running a HID bulb at low power for DRLs. As you can tell, I am more confused sailor on leave in a Bangkok bar. Can I please get some tips? Also, what would be a good set of blacked out LED tail lights to match?
