hi guys i have a 98 gt. recently ive noticed a bad vibration coming from what seems like the passenger side, cant tell whether its the front or the rear. im thinking hub bearing but im not real familar with them.anybody have any other ideas? its a fairly bad vibration and of course it gets worse as i go slower, the faster i go the less i fell it but its still noticeable.anyway to tell that its deff the hub bearing or..? any help would be very appreciatated. i cant take the vibration anymore, its driving me crazy but im not real familar with this stuff so i dont know where to start, please help .lol:confused:

its either the cv or the hub. check to see if the cv boot is cracked. another sign of the cv being bad is grease...could be on the frame right below it, or currently my engine bay has it all over the coolant overflow bottle, back of the coil packs, the firewall, and even the underside of the hood!! all because of the damn cv. good thing is theyre only about 70 bucks.

ok thanks guys.we had a lot of snow here recently and with it being my dd i know i had to hit a pile of snow or one of the 10 billion potholes so thats why my first reaction was hub bearing.ill check out both over the weekend and see where im at? if it is the hub bearing does anybody know if one from a 2000+ bonneville will fit it or is it even worth using a used one at all?

if there is allot of snow, it could be as simple as snow, or ice in the back of your rim's. hit the car wash first and make sure you blast out all the rims really good, or take them off and clean them. next cheapest is get your wheels balanced, that could do it. after that, yes, it could be cv's, they usually make noise when you are turning, if they are bad. and after that I would go for wheel bearings. Good Luck!

long time since ive posted but have an update.lol ended up being the tire. somebody must have ran this tire the opposite direction. tire had a lot of tread left but a big bubble in it and the metal was sticking out. swapped it out for my non alloy spare which also has good tread.the car isnt bouncing as bad but there is still a vibration. now im wondering if from driving with that bubble for so long messed up the hub bearing? its tolerable but annoying still.cv's are fine, mid 70's so deff not ice or snow on the tire.lol rims not cracked, tire is good. cant think of anything else besides the hub bearing. unless maybe a shock? idk that would be kind of odd.should i even bother with a used hub bearing or just buy new?
