I have a 97 grand prix gt. The air bag light was on and it gave me a b1015 code. I replaced the jumper wire from the airbag, now it is giving me a b1017 code (circuit open). Does anybody know how to cure this code?
 


i believe there was a recall on our vehicles about something with the airbag light coming on and something shorting out and your airbags wont deploy correctly in the event of a collision i actually got the recall in the mail as it was life threatening....go to the dealer ask them about that recall...
 
The local dealer here told me there was no recall on air bags for my car. So I got no help from them.
 
Could the clock spring in the steering wheel be setting this code off? I wouldnt think the driver side air bag would have any effect on the passenger side but I dont know. Any thoughts??
