Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

B&M Shifters?

not sure why the thought would make you laugh. does that mean the idea of a manual valvebody is also silly in THM350s, C6s, 727, 700r4s, and 4L60-Es as well?

implementing it into a 4t65 seems to be easier as you do nto even have to mess with the actualy valve body just the PCM. heck GM did this from factory with the comp-G and called it tap shift

You know as well as I do the whole idea is retarded- and the examples you cited (most of, anyway) are viable platforms for drag racing. Go ahead, hit me with "So is a 4T65..." *snort*

It still appeals to the ricer in me. Again, idgaf about any performance gains, not that I'd expect any.... but I'd rock it.

It would be for me... I wouldn't put in any additional effort to make it do anything the stock shifter doesn't do. It'd just be a different look lol.

installing race car parts that do not function as a race car part is the definition of rice. IE, an ironing board wing on a stock honda... Race cars would use a wing for added downforce taking corners at 100mph.... The honda would probably just lose MPG.

I consider underbody neons to be considerably less ricey than a shifter in a stock GTP would be....

This is how I feel about this whole thread.

nope i honestly do not see why you think the idea is retarded. controlling what gear the trans is is can be fairly useful not just in a racing sense. sort of like the second gear start but this way you could even go to 3 or 4 to get extra traction. that is how i used the manual valve body in my 74 K10 4x4. to climp up trails with out blowing off the tires to help traction

proably would work well in a autoX that way the trans is not hunting gears or upshifting/ downshifting when you do not want it too

and the 4t65 is a viable platform for drag racing in a feiro. the GP is too heavy to ever be a good platform for drag racing just liek the new camaro. it might have a great engine and drivetrain but that car needs to loose 1,000lbs

but whatever not making you do it i was just giving an idea

You should try :)

And most people don't off road in there gp's....I say most cuz I got mine stuck in the sand on a beach once....

works for snow as well. when i swapped out the 4 speed POS in the lebaron for the 3 speed installed a manual valve body.

Zombie thread awakens!

And I want to see pics, if you are serious. I've been tossing around the idea of an AWD 04+...

It'd be pretty scwheet for snow and ice, and whatever else one would use AWD for.

At this point its a has been and by has been I mean has been at the junkyard for about a week now lol. Couldn't handle the stress and I ended up snapping my driver side control arm and the knuckle cracked all kinds of fantabulous, which in turn yanked the rest of the suspension with it, but hey that's why they didn't make grand prix's for off roading I guess. If I can find the pictures of when I had just the 31's, it essentially looked the same, I will post it asap, but now I don't get the pleasure of owning a pontiac I can tell you there is no experience like it, if you ever get the chance grab an Aztek and they almost literally slap together, the fun part was chopping and hacking that trunk.
