Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Any roofers on here?

doing your own roofing sucks, I've done it.. but when the water doesn't drip on your head anymore, its a good feeling lol

enjoy the suntan btw

Ryan..I did the same thing. I understand that feeling.

congrats though...that's a ton of forward progress and think of the calorie count.

Dude Sat. my fitbit said i walked 18,500 steps. I burned some cals but i ate like a horse yesterday. Also i need a new wheel barrel. LOL! The wheel gave out but i kept using it until i finished. It weebled and wobbled but didn't fall off. I'm gonna buy a new one at Sams for $50.00.

18,500 step my gawd man, you know how many miles that is? and that dont count the ladder steps as a loaded step up does it?

if you ever went on a stair master you can now use the free version. it works better dont it? (its a full body pull) none of that quitting 1/2 way up lol

Um... it was over 8 miles. Oh crap...

19,815 steps on Sat
38 floors climbed,
8.83 miles traveled,
4415 cals burned,

I did 17,xxx steps on Sunday.

The sheeting was 3/8 3 ply. Replaced the crappiest parts with 7/16 OSB or something like that. We tied some of the other boards together with flashing patches. There's still a few dips in the roof but not bad. Really the whole roof probably needed re-sheet-ed. We just didn't have the time. It will work until the next time it needs it and the next time it will be done by someone else or I won't be living here lol.

Poor Wheel-barrel.

yeah..I said that same thing too about redoing it again.

Couple things that helped me out was having helped buddies with car work. There were 2-3 people plus a few bundles by me, so it wasn't brutal. There were 3-4 of us on the roof as well. No sheeting and I did my tear off the week prior to the install.

Well I found out I have 24" centers and some of that roof is very soft! It scared me to walk on the front. It's still kinda scary but not as bad. You just gotta find the studs.

damn Bills a go getter for sure, pre ripped himself, thats work.

24" on center, you should have had 3/4 ply up there to start with, good thing no inspectors drove by, or you would have been putting in beams too.

looks pretty flat, cant see the key ways but its flat, so thats good.

im over 200 as well and have fallen through more roofs that you want to know, one time i blew my knee out good, its still f'ed up to this day. you learn fast to step on the beams only.

and fvck that poor wheel barrel, it wasn't worthy 15 years ago lmao.

Ya. I could put a new wheel on it but my mom bought it at a garage sale for a few bucks. I'll just buy a good one. I got my use out of it.

I should take a pic of how thin that damn sheeting is. It's scary.

i have a good idea how it looked. thin wood bending under your feet is no fun. add a 90 lb bundle of shingles and your feeling unsafe all around, like i said you learn where to find the beams and stick to them. you new Indian name is light foot lol

i didnt hear of any nail into foot problems, walking light also helps keep nails out of your feet, nothing will kill your day faster.

try stepping on one of these nails, they stand up and you just land on it, and its ring shafted as well, they leave a nice lump for a week or so in your foot. i've had to have other people pull them out with a hammer or pry bar. and done the same for co workers. ouch, im cringing...

Dodged a few nails..that's good.

BTW Ryan, don't feel bad about Scotty being able to carry double what we can. I've met him in person... or Bigfoot or Gargantuan...whatever species he is. :th_biggrin2:

yeah, Bill did comment that when we carried my old trans to his pick up how light it felt. im pretty sure i could have hauled it myself, its just kinda odd shaped, and leaks if turned wrong.

and that 2 bundle crap was when i was in my 20's and low 30's. i don't want to hump jack up a ladder anymore.

my brother had a great T shirt years ago, it said. "im not very smart, but i can lift heavy things" my brother has no neck and looks more like a line backer.

yeah when i did my moms roof, lugging up the bundles was the worst part, because i had the time i moved them up first since i was only doing a 20x20 section of the roof, i could leave the bundles up against the slopped part lol
then day 2 i stripped and resheeted it, then layed down the shingles.. AIr nailer FTW
