So Ive read through about every other ignition/spark plug wire thread on here and I still get mixed reviews.

The guy seems really knowledgeable and the things he says seems pretty credible I know that the data varies from car to car year to year... My question is there any validity about the Nology wires with the capacitor?

I know some will say that the price does not justify it but id love to get more education on them. Im kind of a ZZP guy and I read that the 4th Gen 10.5 ZZP wires have worked out all the kinks and I was thinking about getting a set of those. Nut just wanted to hear some input on the Nologys.

You sprung a new one on me. Never seen spark plug wires with capacitors before. I have no idea about them. I want to be dismissive about the snake oiliness of them, but would need to research them to actually know.

As for the ZZP wires... they're fine now. Every bit as fine as generic and stock ones. There's no measurable performance difference between them.

Money is not really an issue, I bought this car specifically due to how cheap it was, 2400.00 to be exact, heh ive spent more money on my new exhaust and suspension then I did on actually acquiring the thing

Keep the darned oem ac delco wires. All I put in all my 3800 and friends 3800 are AC Delco wires, the other gives problem.
 


Me too... so go do some more research. Keep in mind we have a waste spark setup. Some parts (like Bosch plugs) don't do well with the extra spark all the time.

I personally have laughed at ZZP's quality. One day it's great, the next you don't know. Due to that and their counting troubles, I stray away. At the same time, they do have some good products.

My vehicle runs on Autolite Professional (Lifetime) wires. Cheap, very reliable, and if anything ever seems remotely out of whack, free local replacement. When I have an issue, I don't like to wait for a fix to ship.

I have run PRJ wires. They are similar to ZZP except the level of customer service is exceedingly excellent and beyond from Paul. Needed when you want to tuck wires and abuse them in ways they shouldn't be abused. I bought a set used, used them for years and sold them to another who is still using them. If you are looking for 10.5 I'd highly recommend them, especially if price is not an issue.

Overall though, it comes down to, what do you need/want?
 
Well said Bill, I wish I had the background in understanding the technology of the Nologys. I think with any company product there will always be hit and miss issues. So far ZZP has done me well, any day now ill be getting a lovely package of suspension parts so lets keep our hopes up they continue the trend.

These threads more or less help me understand these things better, redundant as they may be.

Bumping an old thread here.. But a quick question.. I had a 2000 ssei, and I used the NAPA Belden Premium wires.. small 7mm wire, nothing fancy, but on the Bonneville forums they were always recommended, with AL copper core plugs, ( usually 606s or 605s ) ..


The PN I have for these is Napa Belden 700950.. Are these Ok? I didn't know if there were any weird pcm or ignition changes from a 2000 series 2, to a 2006 series 3
 
Nah dog. No weird changes. Don't know about that model in particular, but if it's stock...ish... it should be fine.

As for spark plugs, use what makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Some of us like changing them twice a year. The rest use iridium. As long as you avoid platinum, you're fine in our books (except drunkie, who's a rebel).
 


There is likely a difference between an H body and W body because of the different coil pack bracket thus different length wires required.

I'd use them anyways and just make sure they sit clear of anything harmful.
 
Well as expected another ****up. All the plugs and wires seated perfectly with the 605s and Napa belden wires except for the very last plug wire. They all clicked into the plug except the last one. Which didn't even stay on. Its plug wire 6 the rear driver side. So ****ing pissed off right now .... I wish I knew the resistance +ohm / impedence ) of both sets of wires as I would just use my old ac delco wire thru tomorrow until I have a chance to swap it out. Do you guys think that would work, or should I not do it.

Also should I be using the metal covers that do over the plug boot or are they useless
