• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Aluminum coolant elbow

then put 90* fittings on them and link them with those. forced arc of tubing. or buy some short, short fittings.

all i'm saying is it's possible and very easy.

I still don't get why you guys have troubles with the elbows.

i never had any issues with them either, but considering there are so many people that DO have issues with them i am unsure as to why not one person has ever done what i've been describing.

you and i have the worst alt bracket out there, we have more of a chance breaking the timing cover with the cast elbow.
Yeah i know :(

But I didn't and I was yankin on that thing pretty hard. As long as your gentle and its not corroded to ****, you shouldnt break anything.

I used wd40 and jordon seemed to like it like that. Little lube goes a long way. I've never used rtv on elbows and never had a problem.

Upper elbow broke Monday at Boy Scouts. Pumped all the coolant out and had to be towed home. There was only the piece begin the o-ring left in both sides. The other elbow looked fine. Elbows were about 14 months old.

Will see how well aluminum works this time. I put a little dielectric grease on to slide them in.

The ones I had from Autozone busted several times, I decided to get the GM ones and those are good. Now I got the metal ones as backup for whenever the GM ones die.

i went thru like 3 or 4 sets of the plastic ones before i came across these. for some reason, right before i found these, every time i would get up to about 100 mph, it would blow thru the elbows, either one or both, every time. couple times it was at the seams, couple times it was right at the end where it goes into the motor. not sure why. flushed the whole system, replaced the cap, got the aluminum ones, and its been awesome ever since. except for the no 3rd gear... lol

Did ~120 last night to test out the set in my engine. No worries or issues.. plastics are doing well for me.

I really don't have a clue what you guys do to these things.
