Aj's CompG build progress thread (car has a new owner!)

Re: Aj's 2013 CompG build progress thread

nice build....what width/offset are your wheels, like the way they sit in your sig pic....

Re: Aj's 2013 CompG build progress thread

My friend James helped me get past a mechanic's block last night.
Today is the day.

140A alternator connector soldered.

Fixed snipped wire in wideband harness.

Horizontal bolt bracket needed a 'C' machined into it for I/C hose.

140A alternator needed more machined off the backside. Now thin piece of cardboard clears between alt/blower.

Here you can see just how much space I have to work with.

Unfortunately, I have a brand new Gates K060905 belt which happened to be just a tad bit too short for this alternator/bracket setup.

I need to run to a store and grab a Gates K060938 for a Riviera, which is slightly larger outside circumference.

90.873" vs 94.470"

Re: Aj's 2013 CompG build progress thread

Yep, that is him.
Thanks!
This belt is the only thing stopping me now.

Re: Aj's 2013 CompG build progress thread

Think this filter is big enough to feed an M90?

Picture of ZZP aluminum trans pan w/ drain plug quick fix.
Junk plug that came from ZZP would leak previously.

A shot at the exhaust/wideband all set up.

Dat I/C hose clearance
There is barely any ******* room, but it fits with no rubbing.

I just need to get my hands on a gallon of 30w oil rated for HD hydro-static transmissions to mix in with the rest of the ATF.

Re: Aj's 2013 CompG build progress thread

Any info on what alternator you used and what's all needed I'm curious

Re: Aj's 2013 CompG build progress thread

140A alternator off any equipped 3800 w/ connector & bolts.
140A alternator/horizontal bolt bracket.
1998 Buick Riviera accessory belt.

Re: Aj's 2013 CompG build progress thread

I forgot how ****in' loud this thing is.
I'll make a video tomorrow morning when my neighbors aren't pissed off at me.

New bumper is on. No paint, just primer. gives.gif

The Inferno lip comes with what I hope is 3m double sided tape already applied, just needs to have the protective layer removed.

As many are aware, 2004+ arrowheads are famous for chipping towards the bottom. G6/G8 arrowhead time? What should I use to secure it? 300m tape?

Does anyone know any tricks in order to get this thing adequately secured? I'm thinking properly hidden zip ties along the sides for reinforcement in addition to the tape.

Are you referring to the 3m weatherstrip tape? For the emblem yea that's what I used almost a year ago when I did the arrowhead in carbonfiber. That **** won't come off.
