I know people say water to air is way better, im not saying thats false. But I do think it would be cool if someone tried an air to air just to see what gains really can be had.
Think about it. An A2A IC would be like an overpriced intake. You are only cooling the air before it hits the blower. Where as a W2A setup is cooling after the blower. Seems more logical to do it after the air has been compressed.

Nah, it would cool the air after the blower. Search for a picture of a Ford Thunderbird Supercoupe engine bay. In the case of that car the charge is pushed out through the top of the blower, to the front of the car and then back to the engine. To me it makes no sense to do this unless water to air isn't feasible. It's like saying, "why not put a smaller supercharger on the engine just to see what the gains would be". In this case we already know the air to air would be less efficient while introducing other issues such as MAF placement and a delay in throttle response. Both are addressable but again, why bother? You know?
Seems like there would be "supercharger lag" with this setup. Why not just turbocharge it? Lot cheaper and less parasitic.
Is the Thunderbird setup you speek of a new design?
You can buy that chit for cheap on ebay. Just that the blower is upside-down. Seriously, they should have incorporated this stock on the GTP.
