Aggressive wheel fitment question

Im looking for a set of 17"s for my 05 GP, and i THINK ive found them, but i want to see if anyone has tried, or heard of, a wheel setup like this fitting.

1)A 1.7" drop is the works for this car
2)The fenders are going to have to be rolled, alot.
3)I am planning on wrapping these in 275/40/17 Kumho XS's
And the wheels:

Size: 17x9.5
Pattern: 5x114.3
Offset: +30mm
Hub Bore: 73mm

if you roll the fenders a lot, you should be fine. and youd need hubcentric rings, since the stock hub bore i 70.3. the tire will stick out 2in more.

Ya i wasnt sure on the stock hub bore, ive heard a couple numbers, but there all under the hub on those wheels. im just worried about the wheels hitting the struts.

and i dont midn a little stick on the tires, but i know a guy with a fender roller so im planning on taking the fenders off and getting them rolled to hell and back.

youre pushing it with those tires and wheels. im not saying it cant be done, but youre pretty much at the limit of what our cars can take and still roll around well. i usually only recommend people go for a 8.5" or less wide wheel and usually try and stay 255 or less tires, but it seems you want to go where a lot of people dont.

try it out, see how it goes. the fenders will for sure need to be rolled, but you might have to do some pulling as well. my concern is that with tires that big you might rub the strut hat.

it looks like there is a little room to spare on the strut hat so if its rubbing a little bit a dremel should be able to solve it.

and ya i autocross the **** out of my GP, so i want the widest stickiest street tires i can possible shove under the thing, and theres the top swap/cams/pulley/tune this winter/next spring so id like to not roast tires.

i know tis wide a hell for our cars, but my research showed it would work with minimal rubbing, but i want to get feedback from others who have been working on these cars longer before i pull the trigger.

it sounds like you have read up on it and know fairly well. the only thing left to do is to try it out. i might start a running list of fitments that people are running to give people real world ideas on what they can and cannot do. keep us posted.

drunkie, i thought the offset was 35? and if you didnt roll them, thats why. fully rolled fenders and u shouldnt rub at all..

Luda - yeah, try it out and rent a fender roller from somewhere, grab a heat gun and have fun.

yeah 35 sorry.

I am getting them rolled soon

im on the fence as far as how far there gonna stick out. i know a VW guy with a roller and tons of experience so im not to worried about getting the fenders pulled and rolled. but my roomates seem to think its going to look ridiculously stupid with arches that wide and im not sure if i agree or not.

i might stick to 17x8.5's, but the only fitment for the wheels i like are going to put them out just as far... so i might has well go with the wider wheels and tires.

so again, on the fence, so i guess ill keep looking for the perfect 5 spoke, but these are definatly close.

with 17x8.5" wheels you could run a 255 or 265 if you wanted to push it. honestly, with more tire than that youre just going to get more tire roll and i dont think its going to help you.

if your dropped. I would go with those 9.5" Thats going to be pushing it.
Even with the fenders rolled, you still might have some problems.

I think it would look sweet though..
