Aftermarket Stereo Upgrade

I have a 2002 Grand Prix that I bought last year. The aftermarket stereo that had been installed was trash, so I decided to replace it after a year. I bought a Pioneer head unit and went to install it. One of the previous owners already cut the factory wiring harness and the wires for the stereo that came with it were spliced directly to the stereo wires themselves and someone had rigged the ground wire to the amp fuse. Well, I got this one properly grounded and hooked up the constant power supply. I also got all of the speaker wires hooked up. The stereo has power, but there is no sound. I figured out that the amp control wire is dark green and hooked it up to the amp control wire on the stereo harness and I get a buzzing sound like the speakers are now getting power, but still no actual sound. What am I doing wrong? Is there another wire from the amp or that I need to hook the amp control wire up to? I keep seeing mention of a pink wire that goes to the amp, but there is no pink wire that I can find.

I haven't been able to find the amp and the Bose logo is not on the speakers(I've been all over the internet looking for this info), so I don't think it has a Bose system. It does have a fuse for the amp, though.

From Op's original post.

Yup, you sure nailed it for him by linking something saying hook power to the pink wire he can't seem to locate. :th_scratchhead:

Bnstallion, did you match up wire colors to a schematic to ensure that the prior owner had hooked up the wiring correctly?
Here's a link to the factory wiring, while it won't give you the pin numbers on a connector that has been cut out by prior owner maybe it'll help with double checking wire colors. Google Image Result for https://www.tehnomagazin.com/images/Pontiac%20Grand%20AM%202005%20stereo%20wiring%20connector%202.gif
And every GP of that gen should have had the pink IIRC.

Thanks for the advice, everyone... I ended up buying an aftermarket amp and ordering new speakers. I'm hoping to have the whole thing done this weekend.
