Aftermarket Boost Gauge

So I hooked up a sunpro boost gauge today... kinda in a rush before heading home from work. Well got it all installed and driving home I tested it out and it reads 20-23 Vac but when I WOT the gauge shoots to 0 and holds there til I let up.

I connected the vac hose to the center nipple on the 3 way on top of the s/c that is orginally blocked off. I plan on disconnecting it and connecting it to the MAP sensor with a "T" tomorrow.

Any of you guys have some thoughts on this before I go to the zone for a vac T in the morning?

you got in the wrong vacuum line then. you need the vacuum line that is connected to the MAP, LIM, FPR, and BBV.

Excellent actually... I thought I would lose heat esp with winter time coming but I don't.

On the highway she runs steady at roughly 165*
If I sit Idle for 5+ minutes she climbs to about 185*

you realize there is absolutely no reason for you to run a 160*, right? especially with how lightly modded you are.

I know... Was flushing the coolant and wanted to change the thermo at the same time.. ended up grabbing the 160 and throwing it in.

Ok... switched vacuum lines. Now I'm T'ed into the MAP sensor line...

She is now reading 10 vac and at WOT she reads 3lbs of boost.. something is wrong here.. I know I got more boost then that

Vacuum leak maybe?!

while in park you should be getting close to -20 vaccuum and in gear it should be around -16 or somewhere close. You should be maxing out on the boost end of it anywhere between 6-10psi depending on how ported your SC is I would guess. Do you have any way to scan? If so cross reference to see what it says if it is the gauge or if you have a vac leak or some other problem.

Vacuum leak...for sure...check the "T" Fittings around the supercharger and LIM...most of the time they dry rot...or hte vacuum line on the TB...mostly likely in one of those 2...you can get the entire new GM specific lines for less than $40-$50

HEy I'm not real car savy I know this is kind of a stupid question but is there anyway to get the gages on the driver side door support, I know it's possible period but wondering if it's been done on a gp and where to get them and about how much would they be. I have a 05 gtp

Ok again sry im being such a noob here so I found some pillars and wondering what gauges exactly would you guys recommend, obviously a boost gauge, but I saw one that had engine vacuum and boost in it together wondering if thats a better choice. And also wondering if Glow shift gauges are nice quality gauges or not? Thx really appreaciate it guys

boost/vac in one gauge. glow shift are good gauges, i had one and liked it a lot for how cheap it was. if you had to pick three (cheap) gauges i would pick boost/vac, oil pressure, and volts. the rest of the gauges you might want or need are more expensive.

I would go with the Blinker fluid level gauge, Tire pressure gauge, and the Vacuum most def....

:th_sign-ohsnap:Just Playing... what Bio said is what I recommend.

get one aeroforce, then you can switch it whenever you want and read/clear codes with it too. Get a wideband A/F IF you ever plan on having a custome tune done to it or if you are going to mod it at all.
