• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

ABS light on, I'm stumped.

i used to wire up my radios back in the day with all sorts of them things, from cheap to over priced, over time they all failed on me.

soldering is mindless work, a child could do it. at least doing 2 wires lol. and it will last for the life of that wire.

in the long run solder is cheaper anyway. cause you only do it one time.

for the life of me I can't get the soldering thing down. I've tried it several times and it always drips off the wire or doesn't make a nice seal. I've watched how to video and everything. So I just said piss on it.

your not using flux then. flux is what sucks the solder into the wires. same as copper pipe soldering.

i like flux core solder, melts right into the wires.

the wire you were working with, were they clean and shinny, or dull and dark looking?

you need nice clean wire to work with. heat it up, touch the solder to the warm wires. cool then slide the shrink wrap tube over it.

i just repaired my friends phone charging cord, ( his cat ate it) i used a lighter to heat the wires, worked like a charm.

So my soldering did not work. I soldered then shrink tubed them and put wire loom and electrical tape over that. I'm thinking now, maybe the positive and negative are flip flopped, I'll try flipping the connector to the speed sensor and see what happens. Otherwise I'm just ready to head to the scrap yard and pull the wiring off a car.

Well, that didn't work either, so I guess I'll be making a trip to the scrap yard when we get a warmer day here.

ever solder copper pipes? no flux no seal. every plumber has told me the flux draws the solder into the joint. and you can see it get sucked into the pipes joint as well. but then again its also called sweating. i dont know everything but either way you need flux.

Just get a scan. Do the work yourself. I ended up taking mine to the dealer so I could have them use the TechII. They came out with a bunch of mess anyway it was like $1500. And I politely said in my southern voice thanks but no thanks I'll have to come back for that repair, hehe. And off I went and fixed it myself :)

Same deal here, autozone scanner wouldnt cut it.I took it to the dealer and got it scanned.Altho mine was a bad ebcm on my gold car.If you do end up having that ebcm bad , module master is a good alternative to spending 900 dollars on a new one.Brandon told me about that site.

^^yeah, i hope its something simple too.Its the damn instrument clusters fault, always saying something is bad, they are rarely upbeat:th_jester:
