ABS Code C1242

Oh, no. My abs modulator is bad and I wanted to know if my car had variable steering or not. So I can buy the right part.

Well turns out I got screwed. I took my car to a local repair shop. Paid $400 and they fixed things that didn't even new fixed and lied about what codes the car was throwing and overcharged me. I took it our local mechanic around here (certified mechanic) and he said that he can fix everything for about $70 with parts. I reported them to BBB and they will be hearing an earful from me tomorrow.

Well they put a purge vale solenoid that wasn't even for my year/model that didn't need replaced. The old one wasn't even broke. Its the vacuum switch that's broke. They also charged me $60 for that part and I can get the same one for $25. And it runs out its not even throwing this code it's throwing a left wheel hub speed sensor. They put on 2 new front hubs and my mechanic found out that some wires were just cut and the bracket is messed up. Simple fix.
