• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

A terms of agreement???

badbrad

i pay to play
well, we've all seen alot latley and it'll never end..could we make it so that when a new person joins(that is a good thing) he has/she(luv u girls), has to "agree" to read the stickies that are posted to answer the common questions."can i run a 2.8 pulley on my stock gtp?" would be a thing of the past... this could be wishful thinking, but maybe some will not be such d!cks when we go nuts on 'em.????thoughts????i'd like it... same f'in questions allllllthe time:th_thumbsup-wink:

yeah, i understand, but i feel like its a way to say "look: read this ****, cause if u ask this,,your gonna get beat the hell up!!!"...maybe a lost cause, but i tried to make the world a better place for all to love one another....f'it..lol

i sympathize with them. first thing i did was post a thread asking questions. Maybe it would help if you all did what i did: post a link to "safely modding..." in your sig

yea, most people blow off stickies, but how often does anyone read terms of agreement? Seriously i always just scroll to the bottom and click ok. Unless its something that costs me money. I think more random links, maybe on the home page or something to important stickies, bold saying READ ME or something would work better, i also like the link in the sig idea

These suggestions are merely to appease us. :th_thumbsup-wink:

But having that in your sig doesnt work because these people arent reading posts first... they're making them.

Logic fail? :th_nanana:

How about make it a sticky in EVERY section. :)

There should be a skill testing question

Here are the mods, what size pulley should this car be able to handle? :th_thumbsup-wink:

how bout just outright ban the people if they ask something in their first few posts that is covered in a sticky.

welcome to GP Forums, dont say the wrong thing or we'll ban your as$!! There would be no new members that would make it past 10 posts...

the questions that are being asked by "new members" if they have to ask these questions... dont really need them IMO

What if a term of agreement was a quiz over all the basics of the GP that had to get a passing grade in order to be a memeber? Something easy like

Question:
"what is the best way to learn how to mod your GP?"

Answers:
A. Reading "http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/safely-modding-your-3800-powered-car-17482.html"?
B. Reading "http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/safely-modding-your-3800-powered-car-17482.html"
C. Reading "http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/safely-modding-your-3800-powered-car-17482.html"
D. I'm retarded and can't read. How did I get to this site anyway?

:th_thumbsup-wink:

look, the easiest thing you can do is to just post a link to a thread thats already been posted and be done with it. no smart A$$ comments and no arguing and more time to do other $hit. . .

sweet. make that ur signature.... bahahahah

Most people get on here just to ask a question. They are in a hurry and don't really have time to sift threw everything so they just post. It would be easier for people to just help them out by posting the link for them. Some choose to rant about how they are stupid and should look it up themself...all that does IMO is run them off and make them think WOW people in the grand prix community are dicks. If you took the time to read and took the time to tell them how stupid and wrong they are how hard would it be to just post the link? But I do agree they should have to read those or atleast let that be the first thing they see.

If you're asking something thats in a sticky and its NOT just a vital repair, then you shouldn't be in a rush.

If you are, you're probably going to **** something up while doing it as well.

That in itself shows their stupidity.

i vote for several of u guys to be a welcome committee for the noob questions...hahaha..i do like the idea of joels quiz...
