• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

A problem that only shows up at normal temp, warmed up

i think I solved it, I added a jug of 50/50 coolant..... run fine for an hour... no problem then started issues... found a leak at the thermostat housing, and a whooper sized patty of rtv i don't know why I haven't noticed it before so tomorrow i'm going get a 180 thermostat/o-ring/ and a new temp sensor and see where I stand because it's never showed hot before (I got the Idea to put water in to it from the what is kr thread)

I'll let you know

Isn't it weird that a bad temp sensor can cause misfires.

I don't know if the temp sensor is bad or not but before showed no signs of overheating, never got to past the 1st 1/4 mar
I but I discovered a leak so maybe it has been overheating and I just didn't know, hell Idk really just find it strange that I haven't had a problem since I've been on top of it making sure theres enough coolant in it.

Okay I've put with 180 stat and n oring. Also new temp sensor
The temp for the dash was bad
Noticed the fans wasn't turning on as long as i keep moving im good

I gotta figure out why

fans dont come on till the engine temps hits 212 deg's. so if its running under 212 they wont come on.

my fans hardly ever come on. i have to sit in traffic for a while for them to come on.

Question, How hard does the upper rad hose get on these cars? seems very firm, not swollen but frim
when I run with the cap off no bubbles come up in the radiator, trying to see if I have a blown headgasket without having a block tester.

all my problems seem to tied to heat.

on the gauge the temp doesn't stay still moves 20-40 degrees over a few mins(4 notches)
i have a 180 stat, using green autozone coolant

if the cap is open there should be no pressure in the upper hose, it should be soft. like you can squeeze it and pinch it off.

maybe the rad is clogged.

sorry then it's off its soft, but when the rad cap is on and driven it gets hard

btw thanks for all the help :)

when hot the upper hose will get rather firm with the cap on.

if its rock hard and feels like its gonna burst, theres a problem.
